Guest Bennie
Fitted 6"x9" 250w pioneer's into the rear hat shelve. HUMUNGAS differance. Needed quite a bit of mods. Had to make extention boxes and fitted the OEM grilles. Driven by a 2x 400w Mosfet amp. Replaced dash tweeters with "Infinaty" piezo type tweeters. No mods needed there.Does not look at all shabby, not too much work and DEF. worth the effort.
Nathan
Front doors: Polk Audio db525 - Perfect fit and sound MUCH better than stock (just heeded to flatten one mounting tab so the ofset screw mount could secure it - 10 second modification)Rear doors: still trying to decide... :(

All powered by a Planet Audio 200.4 Amp.

gokiburi
96 850 GLT WagonBoston 5 1/4 components in the front doors, tweaters in the front dash (slight mod on the tweaters to fit that cartridge.Stock in the back for now.Is anyone else rocking Bostons? or am I opening myself up to mass ridicule? For a cheap but nice sounding upgrade, a simple component set like mine makes me a happy commuter. Without yet toying with amps or subs, a component set was the best thing I've done to the car.

ecsevo705
Why, on Crutchfield.com does it only tell me 4" speakers fit my car (1995 volvo 850 wagon)?? Would 5.25" fit perfectly in the stock locations?THanks
the underlørd
cause they suck. listen to what the guys on vs are telling you.
Owned
Those are just generic sizes they get from who knows where. No one at Crutchfield has ever gone out and test fitted speakers in every make and model, they just expect you to believe they did.Nothing fit's "perfectly" in the 850 locations, but 5.25 is about as close as you're going to get for the front doors. ecsevo705
what do you think about just replacing the HU? Big difference? At least from crutchfield I can get the free receiver harness.
