I really prefer to have a 98 and do my own work, but I am looking for something with much lower mileage. I want some reliability, dont need AWD, don't care so much about color, prefer a T5, and want to keep it under $12k. If I buy a later model like a 2001 I will only consider a stick due to the tranny issues in 01. Should I look at 02-04 in the same light or did they get better? What would you buy and why? If I buy an 03-04 then I will definitely keep this 98 just in case.....at least for a while. Actually, I should've included another choice above: 2007 V70 2.5T CPO with 30k on it. Seriously thinking about just ging to this and giving up working on the one car myself except for mechanical stuff like belts and oil changes. No other year tranny will work in it with out major rewiring , and thats a maybe.
