Arizona Immigration Law

Sounds like a step in the right direction. I lived in Price William County, VA before moving back to Loudoun and they did this like 4 years ago. It works there and I am sure once the dust settles it will work in AZ also. My hope is that Virginia adopts the law statewide one day.

I personally don't agree... that law leans more to being discrimination than actually doing a positive impact in the state or society

Who cares if he is white or not... they are illegal they should not be in the country unless authorized through Visa or work-order or student.

It is like the group of illegals who are suing a farmer in Texas because he shot one of them for trespassing on his land... they should not be able to sue.

I am not saying that illegals dont have human rights but people getting pissed off that they are trying to strain through the illegals... come on now.

I guess you side with the girl who has a 4.09 GPA and is pissed that she cant get federal loans to go to college :arob:

As usual, you don't f'ing get it. The idea is to target illegals, but how do you tell they are illegal from outside the car? You don't. They pull the car over and find out. If they are illegal, they get pulled over once and then deported. That is how you and the rest of the backers of this law see it.

If you are an American citizen and happen to be Hispanic, you get pulled over, your ID checked, delayed for 5 minutes while they verify who you are, then they release you (assuming a drivers license will pass as valid ID) after you have been embarrassed for being pulled over for no reason other than your skin is brown. Then what? It fucking happens again and again and again. You will continually be pulled over and checked. Harassment for being Hispanic.

If Arizona enforced the laws they already have on the books, they wouldn't have as big of a problem, but like most states, they don't have the budget. New laws aren't the answer here.

Did any of you read the law?

All it does is mandate local and state police enforce the existing Fed law.

You can not be pulled over because you look illegal. If you commit a moving violation or are suspected in a crime, you will be pulled over, and your shit checked. Thats it.

Do you really think cops wanna pull over cars to bust for iullegals? Really? Paperwork, time, effort and danger.

They caught the Times Sq idiot because he had entered the country legally, with documents and addresses. If thats not reason enough, then you dont get it.

Thats all I want, I dont care if your a white Irishman or a Blue Ukrainian, if your illegal, I wanna know you are here and where you are, and why.

What Phoenix is going thru...they should be able to do whatever they want.

So, how is that different than before? Arizona would let you go if you didn't have a license? You can get a license without proper documentation? So, the new law is to compensate for other agencies not doing their job?

Basically, yeah!

ICE was not taking the cases. And the locals were discouraged at one point from reporting cases.

I think that rancher getting shot and killed on his property, plus the leaking drug wars on the borders finally got people concerned. My opinion. Texas has people dying and deserting towns. Mexicans as well as gringos.

ALready almost 400 kidnappings in Phoenix this year.

I mean, can you blame them? When does personal and civic safety finally trump political correctness?

If you are a legal or can produce papers, drivers license etc. then you have nothing to worry about. Especially if you dont commit any primary crimes or moving violations. Those are laws you and I live by every day, it can't apply to immigrants? Obey the law. Period.

I dont have the answer to the problem, but I'm appalled at the amount of extra crime, cost of education and use of social services attached to illegal immigration.

Every time my fiance travels to an airport she gets her bag searched and gets searched... Her last name is Scottish but is spelled where it can sound Islamic/Muslim/Middle Eastern... but she does not care... yes it does delay her 30mins but that is the airlines job... they are profiling and looking at the passengers.. she is ok with it, I am ok with it.

I wouldn't be. Shouldn't they be looking for terrorists based on other evidence than unamerican last names?
