Chilled man
I want the criminal element rounded up and deported. Take the gainfully employed, put them in a special group, fast track them to visitor worker status with citizenship pending. then hit them for income tax, SSI, medicare etc, like everyone else. Totally agree with you on that. I think the criminal element should be deported and the hard working families be given a chance at citizenship (of course, waiting in line like everyone else) and pay back income taxes and penalty fines....I am almost certain none would complain about that. Just need to be given a chance. As for the criminal element, the US and Mexico should make a joint effort in building jails for the criminals and money seized from the crimes committed used to fund the operations. I would also use hard military forces to take the cartel out swiftly. Once you pound them all the way to the foot level soldier, they are pretty much done for a while. (then we can focus on taking out the ridiculous regimes of Iran and N. Korea)

Not trying to cop anything lol. I actually agree with a lot of your views just not everyone here being an immigrant. Regardless, they were here before anyone else, so not an immigrant. Pops Racer
Tongue in cheek. You did get that right? Obama sends 1200 NG troops to border, and wants $500 million for more security plans. Open that barn door before the horse gets out.
Pops Racer
This country has a law that ensures that foreign visitors and immigrants are: * in the country legally; * have the means to sustain themselves economically; * not destined to be burdens on society; * of economic and social benefit to society; * of good character and have no criminal records; and * contributors to the general well-being of the nation. The law also ensures that: * immigration authorities have a record of each foreign visitor; * foreign visitors do not violate their visa status; * foreign visitors are banned from interfering in the country’s internal politics; * foreign visitors who enter under false pretenses are imprisoned or deported; * foreign visitors violating the terms of their entry are imprisoned or deported; * those who aid in illegal immigration will be sent to prison. This is a general paraphrase. Can you name the country it comes from?

MyCarIsRed
The biggest issue i have with this is that (at least up in the NE) I'm not hearing anything from the people in Arizona outside of politicians. I know of many of the factors which have brought the situation to this point, but I know nothing of the evolution of the mindset of the people who have passed this law. It makes me wonder who supports it. Oddly enough, the most vocal proponents of it here that i know are recent immigrants who worked very hard and are very pissed that some people cheat the system and not work for it like they did. There are huge numbers of "immigrants" in eastern Mass, and the huge majority of them are working hard and providing services that the lazy suburbanites can't be bothered to do. They follow the rules, and take advantage of every single social benefit they can. It's not greed, it's smart. Working together to help everyone is a community value that this country has largely abandoned, many of them embrace it. Sure there are some bad people in that group, but you get that in any social sampling. The folks I see now are no different from those in any other wave of immigration that has come to this country. I can't imagine a law like this here, it just would not happen. I'm certain the profiling and stereotyping exist, there's no question about that. But putting it in writing, making it official? No way. There are areas where not being white makes you suspicious to the fuzz, and driving a lowered riced out honda WILL get you pulled over in many places, but you're not getting yanked out of your car on rt 1 and having someone demand your papers just because you look different. Do check your bulbs before you visit tho ;)
Spanky
Most farms wouldn't have a labor force. I worked on a farm for 12 years. When I started, we got a lot of high school kids working in the summer, but the state changed the child labor laws, so no one under 18 could work there unless they were family members of the owners. After that, it was 95% Mexicans working. The Filipinos and Laosians all left also because they could get better jobs. I have yet to see a job were an illegal took a job an American wanted. For 12 years huh? I see a sheep, what do you see??

At what point, after being stopped for some primary offense, and providing a valid drivers license, are you removed from the car and asked for 'papers'? Pops Racer
No answers to my quiz? Or is it so obvious its embarrassing? That was a copy of Mexicos immigration laws. The irony is too deep. Does that country also have a Fourth Amendment to the Constitution? Ummmm, no.
