Thread About Nothin

Probably not. When the Miller's first got the car they let me drive it and I was right with their times. People at the track were saying the Volvo was going to be up for sale soon to buy and Evo. :) Hasn't happened yet after 2.5 years.

I would only really use it for autocross, although I would start doing SCCA events then.

If I got one I would change classes. I (and many others) expected to win in the car and did. The car is really fun to drive, but so is my car. I enjoy the competition though, which is why last year I ignored the Evos in class and I focused on the rest of the field. The first event this year was great because it was an STI, a C55 AMG and me all within 0.3 seconds. 3 totally different cars, but we are battling for the lead and at some point each of us had the lead.

With Tim in the supercharged Cadillac entering TS, I have competition for the Evo, but I will only drive it once more in class unless my car is ready sooner. After that he will take the class wins and we are all fighting for second place. Still fun, but it is more fun when we are all competing for the win and it is close.

Plus, I am not ready to spend that kind of money yet. I am not finished tossing more money at my Volvo yet. :P

Evo would probably be cheaper in the long run but you are probably pot committed at this point.

I am hoping the damage to the wallet won't be too bad, but I should know more within the week. However, I am seriously thinking that this is the last time I will rebuild it if it goes again.

In the long run you are right, it might have been cheaper, but Evo's break also, although it usually isn't the engine.

Took this yesterday and think it's the best I've ever taken of my car. Also took the racks and fairing off and engaged as Marshall calls it- "summer mode". Looks much better :D (just wanted to share)

Why can't you use racks during the summer? They're not entirely meant for winter activities and hauling a bike around in the rain, sucks.

Well for one thing I don't have a bike to haul around. But also, this does look better w/o the racks. It's cleaner with less stickers.

 I'm just bustin your nuts. There's no rack on my car currently either. Its a nice change from time to time. Also it makes the car look lower when you take it off after some time.

Right?! I took it off and looked at the new pics and was like...was my car really that low? Haha

"built not bought" Really? Who gives a monkey? If I bought a Bugatti would it not be as cool as your 850 wagon that you built? Ugh, I poking hate that term.

I disagree, I'd rather drive a car I put my heart into than a million dollar penis enlargement pill :P. Built not bought with a comparable price range, I would always rather build, give me a million dollars to build a car and I'll give you something way cooler than a Bugatti

I wouldn't want a Volvo or Rx-7, more like a resto mod Triumph GT 6 or Lotus Europa, and with the 100k I saved from not buying a db 9 I could make either of those faster around the track than a DB 9. Now it wouldn't be anywhere near the status symbol the Aston is but I lived in orange county most of my life and despise most of the people who drove those kinda cars, so I'm a little jaded Lol

You remember the like three day argument that we all had at Seattle Volvo about this? Lololol
