So anyone ever have an engine you were doing a compression test on try to start?

I was doing wet compression, all the plugs out of the engine, ecu removed, crank the engine with oil in cyl. 1 and compression gauge attached, cranks twice then...BOOM!...followed by the engine turning over slowly about 4-5 times while I was not cranking it. At this point smoke is issuing from cylinder 3 (geussing exhaust valve was open and smoke was rising from the exhaust.

So after a second, try to crank it with no plugs, ecu removed, compression tester removed, doesn't turn over. Oh f@ck. Check the timing belt, still intact...crank it by hand and it turns freely...Ok so its not seized, check, try to crank it agian, wont turn over...OK I must have effed up the starter, so I mildly tap the starter with a block of wood and hammer incase the solenoid is stuck, crank it again...still wont turn over.

At this point I'm sure my starter blown, so reassemble everything and go to crank it, completely sure it wont turn over...Immediately it starts like it had never had an issue.

Still not sure what exactly happened, I figure it must have began to deisel on cyl 1 (which is odd because the plugs were a beautiful toasty brown with no signs of carbon build up) can't figure how it managed to turn over multiple times on its own, or why the starter wouldn't work until it was all re-assembled. WTF volvo, y u so crazy.

For some reason I no longer care what my wet compression numbers are lol!

Still have a pair of them for sale too

Hmm...tempting. Really don't have any extra money though. All birthday $$$ this year is going to pegs and tires. PLUS still trying to sell my damn Voxxes :(

Dude if I sell them and get the 650 I want, I can add that to any $$$ I get from my birthday, then bam :D Hey Kavlin...are those wheels still available and do they come with tires?

They do have tires but the rear two have some damage from fender contact.

Currently I will be keeping them for the time being. Most likely through the summer. All depends on how the suspension "tweaks" respond and work with the 18s.
