I'm on call for work this weekend, so since I more or less can't leave my house, I think I'm gonna try and swap all my vacuum hoses in the 850R for iPd's silicone hoses. I hope I can put them all back together the right way.... :D

Haha, Glad you guys got them. There are a few good shots in there huh...

Yeah, I've met him a few times at GTG's. He's a pretty cool guy. His car's pretty nice too, if you like S40's that is. :)

Quick shot of his car...

Are you talking about the HOVA one piece angel eye headlights? If so, and you're trying to install a H1 HID bulb in the low beam, you will need to dremel a little material out. I'm not sure about the high beams, cuz I stayed with the halogens. I used a carbide bit in my dremel dry, no grease or oil. When I was done, I turned the lights upside down and used compressed air to get the shavings out. Worked great, no problems. Adam (OREO) posted a pic that showed where you need remove a little material.

The following is pulled from Adam(oreo)'s thread

headlight.jpg

"All the places with red are going to need trimming.

The red mark on the lower left of the socket needs to be flush with the side. If you look at the original picture you will see how it kind of curves out to the right. Shave that down so it is flat. Just on the lower left half, no need to do it on the upper left half. Obviously I cant show depth with my "diagram" but you need to shave it all the way down (down as in towards the glass of the headlight lense).

The middle red line area, you will need to trim a little bit. Just make a small, lenth wise vertical valley looking thing. Doesnt have to be deep, just makes some extra room for the return wire (is it called that?) on the bulb.

For the two red marks on the right...As you can see, they have edges to them. They come to a point. They make a 90 degree angle. Get what I am saying? Shave those down a little bit so they are rounded off and not pointy. Make sure you do this the entire length of the socket, as I mentioned to do on the mark on the lower left hand side.

Let me know if you have any questions.'

I read this and thought: "How are you thinking you should do that if you're on call?!" Then realized I'm on Volvospeed and NOT rx7club.com and you won't be dealing with a million vacuum line. Consider yourself lucky. If you saw the "Rat's Nest" under the UIM on an FD RX-7 you'd get a migraine. I much prefer vacuum systems on piston engines, or non-sequential turbocharged cars

So this thread is a continuation of what we do all day but are including the VS community now  ?

cool guy, you should ask him if everything is good with his car now! plus matt im/we are not on SS very much, is there anyway you can ask the guys who posted or a MOD to edit the posts that have prices in them? it would be helpful. were cool with helping people but giving everybody and their mothers the same price doesnt work so much, haha. we have no issue with personall referals though

Pics? And I have my work vehicle with me over the weekends so I can leave the 850 taken apart, and come back to it when I get home. :D

Gotcha covered and you also has PM. Lot's of S40 (relatively speaking) in the PNW so you guys might see a few more show up from time to time. AJ and KP were very happy with you guys and your work. They've have highly recommended Seattle Volvo to the S40 guys in the greater Seattle area.

I have to be out the door within 15 minuets if I get a call from work. When I'm done with that assignment (anywhere from 30 min to 2 hours or so), I get to go back home. So I'll be working on the Vacuum lines on my down time.
