if the concern is over the impulse shooter, who pulls a gun and starts shooting people, what is to stop the other people near him from drawing and firing. if several people in a workplace are carrying, then think twice definitley goes into effect.

the statistic they bring up about the current shootings doesn't help the case much, even though they try to make it. if people are allready going in and shooting up their unarmed workplaces, i don't see what they are trying to prove. that someone illegally bringing a weapon into a building and killing people with no weapons, seems to me to be arguing for the other side.

i am not for arming every person, even though that is the straw man that is built by the anti-gun lobby. but by taking weapons away from people who are qualified enough to carry, and who want to carry, you do nothing but endanger other people.

I have no problem with guns in the work place. Front desk at my office is equipped with .40. It is the companies decission though to allow carry or not. In general its not the people with permits you worry about. Anyone with a permit has already gone through an FBI BG check.

My .02 cents.

If you live in a state that Permits Concealed Carry for citizens that qualify, then you should have the right to carry that firearm ANYWHERE in that state.

If, an employer or merchant or government facility does not approve of citizens carrying a firearm at their location then they should be required to have a "Gun Check" when you enter their location. Meaning they have a physical room with a physical person that accepts, tags and then holds your firearm while you are on the premises. After all, the reason most people carry their weapon is for safety to and from their automobile.

For instance. If I want to go to an arena football game in Tulsa I have to park Downtown on at night or on a weekend. To me when I need the most protection is when I am walking the streets of Downtown from my car to the game and back. Once I am at the game I doubt anything will occur, and once I am to my car I could either drive off or I would have a firearm in my car.

So, by prohibiting me to carry at the sporting event. (which under our state law is prohibited) My life is being endangered because there is no Legal way for me to abide by the law and still be protected.

Government facilities should be Required to provide this service Free of charge. Private facilites should be allowed to charge a nominal fee that is governed by the state. Say, $1.00. If they do not provide this service then they have no right to refuse a person that is carrying a concealed weapon.
