TRACStar
I went out to get a late night meal last night from a steak shop in a strip mall. Apparently there was a little car meet going on in the parking lot. They must have heard my turbo spool up a bit as I pulled in, as I was leaving to head home and eat I got flagged down. Pulled over for a few minutes to chat and some kid with a RSX type-s started running his mouth once I mentioned it was a Volvo so I told him I'd race him for $50. As soon as I mentioned money his demeanor changed and he wanted nothing to do with it, he turned to his friend and asked him if he wanted to make a quick $50. He asked me if I would race him so I asked him what he had. It was a 350Z with intake exhaust and a tune. I said sure I'll give it a shot, we pulled out went up the road a couple miles to a wooded area, he wanted to go right in front of the strip mall but I refused. We lined up at a traffic light in front of a nice stretch of straight road and waited for the light to change. As the light was about to change he was revving really high so I decided to just roll into it expecting him to spin off the line. Light went green, he spun, I gingerly took off then stabbed it at around 25-30mph and started to walk away from him. By the time we hit "55mph" he was a good 3-4 cars back. we slowed down and pulled into a parking lot at the next light and surprisingly he paid me without bitching at all. We chatted for a bit and I told him my car might be faster but it will never sound as good as his (I love backhanded compliments)

turbor850
+1 for 350Z honoring the bet, he must have gotten nervous off the line and obviously overrevved and dumped the clutch . . . nice work OP !
TRACStar
he must have gotten nervous off the line and obviously overrevved and dumped the clutch I was going to try and get a good launch on him to at least stay even off the line, but as soon as I heard the way he was revving I knew he was going to blow it. RZT5
Nice kill. And props to the guy for standing by his bet. Although gettin money involved can be dangerous (in Atlanta anyways) Some people are really sore losers.
