EVL WAGN
I don't plan to at this time. The interior is staying, and the idea for the car is to just be low, make some fun noises, work the suspension over a bit (nothing drastic), and to just have fun with it thus why it's being called project family cruiser. It's gonna be a bad ass looking family truckster...thats for sure!

gdizzle
Just bought a BW-T35 trans w/ 36k miles on it as a temp, get the car on the road replacement. Will be swaping in an M40 next summer. Car needs a new t-stat too. After that, should be driveable. :)
Wagoneer855
Coooooooooool! I love 140s almost as much as I love 1800s. Very excited to see progress of this. And it's by someone who doesn't cut corners, going to be nice to see some non-tbricks modifications on a RWD!
gdizzle
Bought a couple of these for the one four two, thanks to Mr. Borrie for the inspiration. Also picked up some maintenance items for the car, t-stat, and misc. gaskets. Ordered a new inner and outer wheel arch from vlvworld for the driver side rear that is rusted out. Next up is the floor pan, but that'll have to come from scandcar.:grrr: Trans should be here next Monday or Tuesday, and that'll get swapped out next week. Until then, I have to finish the baby's room.:omg:

boxpin
nah and here and there... I'm leaning towards this.. You are going to LOVE the sound of the dual side drafts. My Celica had them in the 80's, you could hear that thing roar coming down the street.

gdizzle
New trans is here, and installed. Just have to button things up, throw some fluid in it and rock out. Other parts are arriving today and should have it on the road this weekend hopefully. Managed to rip the contacts off the Thermal Time switch on the back side of the block while pulling the old trans out.., so I'll have to see if I can hack it back together. Knoxmotorsports may have some used ones in stock if not. M40 trans, lighten flywheel, AP racing clutch, and manual swap kit is on order from Knoxmotorsports. I'll swap that in this summer. gdizzle
One item to note that I found to be quite unusual, but totally understand why they did it, in order to drop the trans x-member, you have to pull the carpet up on the passenger floor boards to access a bolt. The carpet has a button snap and just pulls right up. They did this so you can pull the trans without having to pull the exhaust system out. Just threw me for a loop when I saw it.
