I agree, definitely a surprise. I thought the car was in excellent condition.

It's is in VERY good shape. HOWEVER, there is bondo in the driverside door, the driverside rocker is damaged (see bondo in door) and doesn't have the same contour through it's length. You can clearly see it in the photos. The car was repainted and it wasn't the best paint job, tape lines, orange peel, gassing, and splotchy metallic lay. From a distance, you can't see any of this stuff. However if you scrutinize, it's not hard to find the discrepancies.

Ole Dan thought he had a concourse wining 142. It's FAR from that, but like I said, it's very good shape for a 40 year old car. He was asking concouse money for the car too. So we had a battle over the price, and in the end, Dan kind of won on that one, but I did get the price down. I think I paid too much for the car, but not by much. He also made comments about keeping it stock and it going to someone who appreciated its "mintyness". So I bought it, and hacked it up right away. ;)

That's my favorite part. He probably is thinking, damn kids and their crazy ideas today.

If its what you wanted and you are happy with it what else matters? I overpaid for probably 10 of the 16 I have owned but I only regret the wagon I couldnt get running, I know what I want and when I want it I get it. I am thinking we are alike in that regard.

Budding bromance ?

I think so!

I agree with Gary. I'm willing to wait but when I find the rare car, I'm willing to pay a little more if necessary to ensure I walk out the door with the title and key.

Obviously I feel the same way, I bought the car. However, I'm not thrilled with the price I paid. I think that feeling hit me later on after spending more time going over the car and finding things I didn't find on site before buying the car. More ammo so to speak I could have used for driving the price down.
