I have completed the SAS Delete modification to my 98 Volvo and I have good and bad news to report. After driving for approx. 60 miles and the original code of 0410 ( I think that is the SAS code) has not returned, but my CEL is back on. After stopping at autozone the two codes I currently have are: P0302, and P0455. I would like to know if the modification I made for SAS Delete could cause these codes. P0455: EVAP code, When I made the SAS Delete mod, I removed the SAS pump, then I blocked off the port on the air cleeaner, Then I cut the hose the ran from the SAS valve to the SAS pump about 4 inches from the valve and plugged it off by slipping a bolt into the end of the hose. Question: What did I do wrong to cause this EVAP Code? P0302: Misfire on cyl #2, I am sorry if this part of my question is in the incorrect forum. But when I attempted to remove my plug wires to pull and check my spark plugs, When I pulled the wire off the plug it was very very hard to pull off. When it came out part of the rubber piece stayed down around the plug. So I attempted the next on ( the 2nd from the left) and the plastic stem that extends down to the plug pulled out of the wire end. I used needle nose pliers to pull the plastic stem out and re-attached it to the wire. I think this is what caused the code. Also the rubber piece stayed down around the plug. My question: How do I get that rubber piece out from down around the plug? I tried needle nose pliers and I only tore pieces of rubber off, I could not get the entire rubber piece out. Volvo5.0 Posted March 7, 2011 Author Report Share Posted March 7, 2011 You'll probably have to keep picking away at the old broken plug wire until you remove it all. Replacing the plugs and wires should take care of the misfire code. Others have said they have set an evap code after doing the SAS delete. I have 2 cars running the diode and so far no evap codes. Looking at what this mod actually does, it doesn't seem like it should set any codes for the evap system, but who knows.... Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Fudge_Brownie Posted March 8, 2011 Report Share Posted March 8, 2011 I performed the "updated" delete, which *successfully* silenced my 410 code. I always had a 445 code along with that 410 code, and ever since I deleted the 410 code, the 445 code seems to be gone as well. I just checked yesterday, and not even a pending 445. So, I just threw a 455 code last night. First code I've had since this pervious post on Feb. 9th. Pretty sure I've driven over 1000 miles since then, so I don't really know what to make of this.
