Sas (Air Pump) Delete....write-Up With Pics

in case this helps anyone else:

I dropped down the splash guard on the driver's side with a 10mm wrench and pried open the air pump with a flat screwdriver.. there are 3 tabs to do this on:

I then removed and taped off the power wires that you see here.

After that, i put it all back together and then pulled the ECU box apart to get to the harness, and wire tapped the diode into place like so:

After putting that back together, i found the purple vacuum line, disconnected it, then put vacuum tube caps over the nipple.. the size i had was a bit too big, so i zip tied it to the solenoid here:

FYI, there is a connector just in front of the battery, behind the headlight. It is light gray, fairly large, and is much easier to disconnect than prying the pump apart. Not really sure why you would want to do this either? Unless you are in CA and very concerned about a SMOG check?

Also, while modifying the harness is apparently a way to accomplish your goal, I'd argue that its much safer in terms of avoiding catastrophic hard-to-reverse damage to modify the ECU as described in this thread.
