Sas (Air Pump) Delete....write-Up With Pics

Haha, it's pretty simple man. I know because I have a new air pump and check valve installed, the Genuine parts bill was very salty.

Keep updating as you put more miles down, if this is a true way to get rid of the SAS I'm def. going this route. I just don't want to go through the hassle until I've seen a few K miles logged with no issues.

I have had my delete on my LPT ECU in for approximately 1000 miles with no CEL. I now have a T5 ECU with no CEL and I am at 600 miles. I have already removed all of the components that I could from the PCV system and have no problems there either.

I have the LPT ECU laying around with the delete already done, if you want to borrow it. If you decide you want it done, send me yours and I will do it for you. I just need mine back before I send out the new one to IPD for my upgrade. I am not doing that till the summer though. Have to save $$$.

I get 442 or 445 regularly. I just keep erasing them. I passed emissions because the s70 is on the list of "problematic readiness" cars in Ohio so I had the option to forgo OBDII testing and take a tailpipe and pressure test. I passed fine.

To anyone considering this (and who doesn't already know)...these codes are evap leaks and not related to the SAS system..that post was in response to an earlier one...

it is an evap leak code, but it being thrown because of the absence of all the sas hardware. never had a problem before the sas was removed with a p0455.

to anyone that is wondering, if you delete it, it will come back in about a week, that should be okay for emissions testing (obd2)

SAS and Evap are two entirely different systems. Removing SAS components won't cause the car to set an Evap code.

why would after the sas removal and diode install, the evap code comes on, not just for me but at least 3 other people (that mentioned it)?? just a coincidence?

Possibly a coincidence. I can tell you that by far Evap codes account for most of the CEL's that I see

Idono, I just pulled a gross leak code form my parents XC today. although that was after idling for about 20mintues, with almost no fuel and very cold outside. A good time for an evap code.

Also I have evap codes on both my other converts, but It's safe to say that the systems are shot so probably just a coincidence.

I'm just going to toss this one out there...

I've had a re-occuring 445 code despite the fact I can't find any line leaks. And all that time, I've had the 410 code as well. Ever since I did the delete, no 445 (yet?)

Coincidence? Probably. But sure is interesting how many of us have 410 AND 445. Maybe something involved beyond what we know?

Edit: I originally said 455, but I meant 445
