chaostactics
So I bought a Parrot Mki 9200 thinking oh yay it will be more or less plug and play and I'll be set for streaming audio and more... I leaped before I looked. Now that I have it I found this http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270643360027&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT#ht_2219wt_1139 a wiring harness that is said to be compatible with the parrot and the head unit. I am wondering has any one else tried this install? I spoke to parrot today and they said the unit has low level/pre outs that can be used if you're hooking it to an amp and all you have to do is install a parrot software patch to allow this. I'm not understanding how to utilize the amplifier muting and how to mate the SOT-043 harness with the parrot and the factory system. If no one has tried this before I can take pics along the way of the Parrot Harness and the SOT-043 harness but I'd like some input of how to pull it off if I could. Here is a great photo journal of someone pulling the head unit in a volvo for anyone looking for it http://rides.webshots.com/album/563954092PqvyNa?start=

remco_koster
Has anyone gotten this type of Parrot to work in combination with the surround speakers or only with the four corner speakers?
BEJinFBK
What surround speakers?
remco_koster
I meant to say: does it support the Dolby Premium sound system, i.e. all speakers in the car. I spoke with an installer in Singapore and he told me that he thought only the four corner speakers would be supported, not the centre speaker for example. crazykn
^^^ That is true, the center speaker has its own seperate amplifier (built into the headunit, and its signals processed by a seperate processor), so the voice will from the MKi9200 will not come from there. I personally wired my MKI9000 (which is identical in wiring), by using tapping the power connectors on the radio, and by using the line out connections. What I already have is a auxiliary adapter wired to my S70's SC-901 with prologic, and i'm feeding the aux input the signals from the MKi9000. I normally listen to my iPhone/iPod so the audio goes through the MKi9000 (which drives and controls the iPhone) and in turn the audio from that will feed into my system, where all speakers are driven. Though all the speakers are being used for voice conversations, the system sounds fantasic still with no feedback. Since I recently bought another Volvo (S80 V8) i've been looking buy and wire up another MKi9000 to it.
