claymore
Any more pictures of how you mounted the supercharger? When I was thinking about how I could do a supercharger I thought putting it where you did, where the PS pump goes, and then instead of the spark plug cover. This is so cool As prommised, I hope you can make out how it's mounted
dublin14
I had an RX7 Turbo II with top mount intercooler. It had the hood scoop to get all that cold air on it. Not sure if you want to got that route, but you might have too?
Migilla
What about modding the hood like a cowl injection hood? Just enough to give you clearance and fesh air?

Do you have any pictures of what you have in mind? I'm not entirely sure how I'm going to tackle the hood yet.

Falcone
please don't. Just cut a hole, and if you need air induction, weld a little scoop on. Or angle the back section up a bit. (I bent the bondo'd part inward a bit, the inverted bit ofmetal on the underside diverts rain/snow to the downpipe) Cowls don't fit 850's imo no matter what you try. Also you can bend the hinges outward (or use washers), and it lifts the hood up 1.5 inches at the windshield. Also, cut the metal under the plastic wiper cover, just above the firewall. Leave the vin though hahah, helps out big time with getting hot out. rear hood tilt And I can see my windshield with my hood closed. My cam cover is cold to the touch and coolant temps never go higher than 18o, with no cooling fan.
claymore
I think I agree,I might just have the top mount pocking through the hood by half an inch.
Falcone
how tall does the top mount sit off the engine. I can measure my room. Its got a sh!t load on top, in the last pic, the inverted piece of metal is blocking the rest of the windshield. You can raise the rear of the hood quite a bit on these cars with little modification. claymore
Iv got plenty of room at the back, it's just the front that it just kisses the hood even with the bracing removed.
Falcone
just replicate the top mount with 2x4's, and slam the hood, ala eclipse bubble hahah Have you raised the hood yet? Try the rear, and you can even bring the hinge lockers on the front up a bit. I bet you can fit it in there.
claymore
I'v now got all the pipe fittings I need, so did a bit of plumbing today. So, I'v decided what look I'm going for with the Hood I'v cut about an inch off the hight and got rid of the front bit, I may go lower yet. NJGreenBudd
Yeah refer to the TMIC as an "interheater" in the RX7 community due to the extreme heatsoak they see mounted like this, should be worse on a setup like this with the turbo right under there too. Still interested to see what happens with all this, never seen a setup like this on here before now. Good luck, NJGB
Prezman26
I like this. Wish they had some kind of intake like this for an NA.
