Account_Deleted_T5M
Just pulled apart the 850 T5 i just purchased, am doing PCV and noticed how much of a pain the EGR is. Can i throw a 96 manifold on there and a 96+ 850 T5 ecu i have laying around and call it a day?
Ipd
Yup, that's what I did!
Account_Deleted_T5M
Yup, that's what I did! Sweet, did not really want to put that god awful EGR back in.
Falcone
I just left it attached to the stock exhaust manifold, installed the intake mani without egr, and plugged my egr back in. Ran perfectly fine (long time ago) when I didn't have a 96+ ecu.
bergmjs
If you don't get the new ECU i hear soldering a 1k ohm resistor in place of the EGR temp sensor will prevent a CEL.

Guest 240gator
I have 1995 T5 with no need for EGR. I disconnected temperature sensor wires and put 1k ohm resistor between them. I got CEL with P1417 - EGR temperature sensor signal Low. What might I have done wrong?

240gator
What wattage resistor did you use? Just used one I had laying around. Do you think I should replace it with one known to be 1/4 watt?

Well, I accidentally bought 1/2 watt ones and put it in anyways and I still have a code. Haven't gotten around to getting a 1/4w one yet, but I'm suspecting that's the reason. The power dissipation must be within the range that the ECU is looking for and I think 1/2w might be too much.

bergmjs
I just got a tune with EGR deleted before I was able to go get a 1/4w one, sorry.
