Account_Deleted_T5M
So yada yada i have this amazing throughput on my superfast compudora, but that doesn't mean that your running super fast, how many packets are you losing each time you send or receive information? Optimum Cable Wifi, will post Ethernet later

Fudge_Brownie
This needed a new topic why? That's the only way he can effectively tell everyone how big his dick is. If he pays, can we make it a sticky?
PyROTech
other than the packet loss part, these tests are no different to the other thread. And i (im dont know shit about it but) think that most people dont have any packet loss to the servers they are testing, and if you do, its probably something wrong on your own end. And my tests are already on a crappy connection, so it shows you how this doesnt mean shit for the most part.
Account_Deleted_T5M
It does mean something if your into serious data transfer, video conferencing, gaming, and pretty much every other application. I could have a 200mb connection and have 80% packet loss, and be as slow as a dial up 56k connection

I have been doing stickies manually for members. I need to write an app for it but sure. We can pin it if he wants to feel special.

I ment that the tests we are doing arent telling us very much we dont already know. If you had an 80% packet loss im sure this test wasnt the first time you would realize something was wrong with your connection. As for ping, well... what does this mean to you? Jaxx
why the hell does ping matter? this is a retarded ass thread. If you had 80% packet loss, maybe you're holding your ethernet cord together by hand. Even a rate of 1% is a ridiculous number.

Ping is stupid, because pinging one server is like saying it takes you 10 minutes to drive there.

Congradulations, you live nearest the speedtest server, with the least hops.
Account_Deleted_T5M
Yawn, packet loss and thoughtput can be a common dominater in a bigger picture, mtu/rwin greatly affect ping + packet loss. Ping -f -l 1480 www.yahoo.com for example yields a 25% packet loss, and a ping of 25 - 37 over 4 packets sent. Sure you think this thread is retarded but I'm actually trying to gather some information for an automated open source ezmacs program I have setup for my dads company which is located in four different countries and need a consensus over a wide range of connections
