time to bring it back now ladies... esp to my woman fudge brownie :o) annnnnytime. got my kaplhenke control arms.. oh yes - in 6 weeks. amazing craftsmanship and finish. havent put them on yet as ive waited for other parts to complete my suspension makeover. seems koni yellows had become scarce and halted things... also wasnt sure if i should do H&R or iPd so i sat on it for awhile.. anyhow, a week later, Ben emailed me to ask if i'd gotten the arms and if i had any questions. had totally no problems with him, and so far only positive comments about the arms.. just wanted to revisit this thread and update.. more to come on this over the summer as to their performance/benefit/reliability (not that any of you who posted could say shiiit on the matter... so i'll TELL you what is and what isn't.. since i ACTUALLY have them now). big ups to N Choy for his objective input.. see ya'll soon

Given that you have stock/mildly upgraded suspension and under daily driving conditions, how are you going to determine performance and benefit compared to OEM control arms? Control arms on these cars is not really the suspension weak point, performance gains from control arm upgrades would only be realized when under constant lateral load - i.e. track conditions, which is what I assume Ben designed them for.

Personally for daily driving, I see the spherical joints as a weakness more than a benefit. Unless you want to routinely pull you arms every few months to replace the joints, spherical joints don't hold up well to constant debris and contamination which impacts their longevity.

The removable ball joints may be a nice feature, but I still don't see how that is resolving your issue with ball joints going bad every 10k. You still have an underlying problem causing that kind of failure on OEM control arms, no matter what road conditions you drive.

Some people may have issue with Ben, but no one has said his control arms are shit. Like what others previously said, it all comes down to cost vs benefit.

i have boots for the rod ends.. the same company i bought them from supply them to FK (here in CT) and use the boots on helicopters and offroad raceteams - actually went down there and talked to the guy (seals-it). when the spacers line up and everything is tightened down they are completely sealed. the only thing to worry about is if i happen to run over something and the boots get torn open. didnt hear anyone hating on TKI endlinks using rod ends, just kaplhenke control arms, lol. speaking of, my mild suspension consists of: koni yellows, the kaplhenke arms, iPd hd seats, H&R springs, 25mm iPd sways, TKI endlinks, OMP upper brace and 18x8 225 35 . i shoulda scrapped all that and spend $2k on coilovers.. and just coilovers. so i could go around a track with stock sways, arms, links and wheels lol. touche

I'm still waiting for that phone number to call...

And you're right, all these haters gonna hate and drink haterade all day long. They just want to spend their day picking on such a nice, respectful, intelligent guy like yourself.

i am RIPPED! i just spent 2 days attempting to fit a set of Kaplhenke control arms to my T5-R. they dont fit. they cant fit. provided spacers didnt fit. i lined them up with my stock arms and adjusted the ends to be even and when i went to line it up with the car - totally off. even when i was able to get the rod ends into the subframe with spacers i made myself, one side of the arm was higher than the other and wouldnt go? so i tried to attach them to the subframe 1st then hammer the balljoint in and no-go; its 2 crooked. i guess you'd have to be an engineer to get these things on huh? $850.. go f-yourself Ben. im done with fiddling around with these f-things.. even if i got them in, im sure one side could be shorter/longer than the other and alignment would be jacked. i paid $850 plus boots (not provided by Kaplhenke of course) [removed, supporting members only] i wouldnt think a guy like Ben would actually give me my money back..

Suddenly, I am amused.

Sounds like you need to fiddle with the adjustment a little more to make it happy. With adjustable length spherical bearings, there's no reason why you shouldn't be able to get it on. :arob:
