exexpat
people were crazy..... love the jag Thanks and good to see you. You were there and remember it well. The circle of life went: Aftermarket BBS > 2 years S60R wheels > OEM 17s + "I don't care as long as the wheels are black" > "how do I make my Volvo look Subaru-ish" > "this stance thing ain't half bad" That was a year-by-year blow of the last 5 years or so. Commander Riker
I'm running 19x8.5's and am totally diggin it. Really flushes out well to the fenders. I have since rolled the rears and am about the roll the fronts. Then the drop happens, possibly as soon as this weekend. Also, the wheels are going black. +1 to exepat for a posting of some great looking wheels that don't break the bank. Rubber for 19's on the other hand can be a little on the pricey side. Broken images brah... I think the biggest reason that stance hasn't hit the VS realm is the cost of coilovers. FWD offset almost guarantees needing a wide wheel for any kind of lip so I guess that using Jeremy's option would help anyone looking to consider stancing their ride. exexpat
I think the biggest reason that stance hasn't hit the VS realm is the cost of coilovers. It's a couple of things... I think many people with NA and LPT cars inherited them somehow and aren't really willing to spend the time/money to make them really stand out. Then the HPT guys - many think these are race cars and need to be done with performance as the only goal - and this isn't a bad thing, because "stancing" is basically a somewhat expensive (depends on what you do) cosmetic mod when done well and is contra-performance in many ways. Coilovers are expensive. The only real inertia to do it is from friends with BMWs, Nissans, VWs, whatever, but not really from within the Volvo ranks. When you contrast this to the typical "stance guy." E36 BMW owner, cheap car, wants to mod it, cheap coilovers and every <30 male with a pulse and an E36 is doing it. This all makes it much easier to follow the herd. I always need to seek out undone cars with potential and there are a few of us. Every time I see a newer Hyundai stanced out or an American car, I love it. These also tend to be DIY coilovers or bags, too. Other guys "without a home" so to speak when looking for other owners of their model. I think Volvo's have tons of cosmetic potential, but it seems like only the Scandanavians really push the limits. And if anything, I want to show the shoes don't need to cost you an arm and a leg to get there.

exexpat
here's a oem wheel made to work on another model Looks tough. Why did you overbore though and then step back down with hub rings? Seems like doing a 1mm shave would have been easier.

Seems like doing a 1mm shave would have been easier. good question, i did not have the proper bearing for my router. it was easier to goto 73 cb and then step down with a ring for $3 than go out and find the right bearing to shave 1 mm. after i did it, i then noticed i could have did something else to get the 1mm off. Also i ws thinking i did not want to limit myself to just the xc90, if i took it to 73, i can also take it back down to a 65.1 to fit other cars(c70). i also have a second set of wheels in the works for this car.... I'd just say I got impatient (I would have in your case depending on how late at night I was routing) Observational edit - my post count is almost pure evil for the next few posts. blazen244
I like the Coventry wheels and the first TSW. I haven't seen anyone with them on a Volvo so I didn't want to order then they not fit and I can't return them.
