ollycarbs
96longroof
This car is automotive porn. I LOVE IT!!!!! Have had a lust for these since I first read about them in the pages of Road & Track. Probably still have the magazine. Same place I fell in love with the 240 Turbo's. Good luck on the engine. Keep us posted.
Leo850T5
I'm glad you decided to come back to VS and update this thread. I absolutely love these cars and they are almost inexistent in the US
matt b
And this is why you don't let a car sit for 13+ years.... matt b
Oil pump pick up is going to be pulled tonight and cleaned as well. DSC_0052 by Exim-Cars, on Flickr Green dot on the rod scared me until I realized that it was a mark from the factory. DSC_0057 by Exim-Cars, on Flickr Anyway. Just waiting on a large parts order with a new clutch line, fresh motor mounts, a new oil cooler, etc... and the car will be put back together. Realistic timeline is to have it up and running during the holidays since I plan on finally taking some time off work.
lookforjoe
Coming along! That's some hefty sludge you found in there!
matt b
It's thick as mud. Glad to see the oil pump has a good screen on it, it kept the gunk out of it or thinned it out enough to avoir disaster.
Scania
You asked for my buddy's R5. From my understanding it's even More Rare. 81 Turbo 1 R5 w/ what's refered to as a 747 dash I believe he said. You can see the Header on the yellow cabinet, There's also a larger Turbo & Coilover's on the floor next to the header. More than likely I'll b shooting it Kawasaki Green.
matt b
Does he own the DS as well ? I'm selling one in the same color on Ebay right now. Nice T1, sure he doesn't want to sell it ? Why the respray in a different color ?
Scania
No, the DS is another guy's. He has a 66 Saab 96 completely stripped on saw horses to the left. You can see my double stack tool box in the back ground. He Never sell's anything. lol He's also color blind so he likes bright Bright color's. & he also knows I can reshoot it white for him if he wants to go back after I shoot it green. He own's probly 30-40 cars, mostly old 3 cyl 2 stroke Saabs 1953 92b's a few late 60's Sonnets, an open wheel Saab race car & a Factory Saab 99 Rally car. & a 66 Mini
matt b
Waiting to pull the head off the engine with a friend who runs a shop outside of Lex. He's worked on these cars in the past. In the meantime, fixed the exhaust issues: Untitled by Exim-Cars, on Flickr Untitled by Exim-Cars, on Flickr Planning on welding a strip of metal over it. Can't find another exhaust I like. Baby steps this week between some cars for work coming in and Thanksgiving.
854TGA+
Matt what would that exhaust cost to get custom-made?
matt b
Not sure yet, but I'm going to try to replicate a few copies in SS soon. A local welder can do magic in SS and can do it. Main thing will be the baffle, I'd like to try to replicate the sound since it was exactly what the car called for.
V55 CS
L'original est il en inox réfractaire? J'ai une ligne en inox réfractaire sur ma H27, et c'est très compliqué à souder. Excuse for my non translate text but I don't know the translate in English for some technical words.
