Account_Deleted_T5M Posted May 5, 2011 Report Posted May 5, 2011 Awesome i have one of these in Forza 1 Quote
ozzimark Posted May 5, 2011 Report Posted May 5, 2011 Awesome project, I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with it What are your plans for performance mods? Quote
fastboy Posted May 5, 2011 Report Posted May 5, 2011 I love it, can't wait to see it in person I really like the fact that it's at least 10 times the car the regular Le car's were and they still only increased to a 4 bolt hub. I may still have a mint steerinbg wheel and shift knob somewhere at the far that I'll never have use for, if I find them I'll ship them down. Quote
BurgerBob Posted May 6, 2011 Report Posted May 6, 2011 I am extremely jealous. Good luck with the project! Quote
Burn-E Posted May 6, 2011 Report Posted May 6, 2011 You know Daniel's going to be jealous. Very cool find, takes me back to France in the late 80's when I was over there and all the hoodlums were driving modified R5s. Quote
CoRalV70 Posted May 6, 2011 Report Posted May 6, 2011 They are neat little cars, that is for sure. good luck with it! Quote
fastwagonhawaii Posted May 6, 2011 Report Posted May 6, 2011 This car could be an absolute beast. but I like your idea of bringing it back to stock. beautiful car. Quote
Scania Posted May 6, 2011 Report Posted May 6, 2011 Gray market car. A buddy of mine has a white one sitting in his front yard. he's got a performance pack to put on it that's suppose to Really bump up the HP. Road in it a few time's. & for a rear wheel drive it felt like it was on rail's. I'll snap a few pick's if I get a chance. He want's me to paint it Kawasaki green for him. Don't know why. . . . .he's color blind as it is. Nice find. . . . .ball park of what you paid, if you don't mind. .........Dave Quote
matt b Posted May 6, 2011 Author Report Posted May 6, 2011 A Renault without rust...that's a good start. Great project, good luck with it Matt. That's because it's a California car with a fiberglass body! Rear quarters, front fenders and hood are all fiberglass. Chassis is clean though, that was a big plus. Awesome project, I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with it What are your plans for performance mods? No performance mods for now, going for bone stock on it. But depending on ts future, I might go for coilovers, they're easy to source and make a big difference. But that color will ruin its value, tell him that. As for what I paid: I don't usually share that (see garage link for the wagon). But I got a good deal on it, enough of a deal that it's allowing me to buy NOS parts at a premium without issues. Quote
Honeyman Posted May 6, 2011 Report Posted May 6, 2011 Wasn't there a ripper variety one of these in Sean Connery's last Bond flick? He was chasing Barbara Carrera with Q's confunctified motorcycle. :P Quote
matt b Posted May 6, 2011 Author Report Posted May 6, 2011 There was, yes. There's one for sale out of Tucson now for almost $40K. Given that it's been modified in odd ways, I doubt the seller will unload it anytime soon. Quote
