matt b
Progress has been slow. Kids out of school for the summer, other projects, work, the R5 got a few baths to stay clean but the past 1.5 months have been slow going. The main reason was: I pulled the tank when I found some crud in a fuel pump (the car has 3 external fuel pumps). Found the seals to both tanks were a little too dry for my taste. Old sending units were shot. I got them to work with some cleaning and lots of patience but they weren't worth putting back in. Used these new units instead: Finally took the time to button things up, re-install the hoses and check everything for leaks. Carpet goes in today, seats should be finished tonight or tomorrow and car will get some fine tuning this week. Assuming all goes well. :)

matt b
Thanks guys. Jason I got the clutch, distributor assembly and some misc. stuff from England. John Price Rallying is a great source. Everything else came from a company called Garat Motorisation (GMS for short), it was started by a Renault engine builder that was famed with being a part of Senna's F1 team. GMS is in France. Fuel pumps and injectors are fairly common across the K-Jet cars so those came from suppliers on the West Coast. The tanks are plastic tanks. Easy to clean, not great to re-install given the tight quarters. Quick pic of the hoses running to the pumps. Carpet started going in last night. I don't mind upholstery work but it's nowhere near as enjoyable as working on an engine. <_<

854TGA+
Quick update. Lots of waiting on parts, not much to do until then. Received the exhaust manifold. If only the one on the wagon could look this nice. Pulled both bumpers to check and clean the body of the car and dye the bumpers back to grey. Renault wiring isn't known as a strong feature of these cars, and this is no exception. Bracket before: Bracket after: Stripped them to bare metal, primed and painted with Rust O Leum rust prevention paint. Bumpers after one coat Rear bumper re-installed The front tires look like old Michelin TRX's? Weird size? 15.5"
