The Zappo Build

Recommended Posts

Not sure. It should do 400 easily, but I am not really after monster power. The 3076 might be too big for my needs, but I will have to see how this tunes.

Looking forward to hearing how this works out with TT!

Interesting. This may be the case. I had 2 arms and pretty sure that wasn't on either. Mitch had one also and I didn't see one on his. One of the arms I have came out of a working trans along with the rest of my swap parts.

96- pivot pin has a plastic ball/cap, sounds like you resolved it by spacing out the pivot, though

looks great...what would you guys do w/o Danny  ?

We would get it done, it would just take twice the time. :) Also Mitch and the use of his shop. The lift makes it so much easier.

Not everyone up here hires Danny for these things. I prefer to do most of the work on my car myself, but there are things that I would rather have an expert working on.

in this picture It looks like there's a K&N filter below Danny's chest. Any details?

That is the old engine coming out. That filter is the automatic transmission filter I added years ago. There was a secondary cooler down there also, but both have been removed now. Which reminds me that I need to find and install the vent cover in the bumper now that the cooler is gone. :)

so that's were that motor went, can't wait to see some dyno numbers?

It won't be dyno'd until June at the earliest, and probably not until later in the summer.

Not really into drag racing, so I might be in the market for a turbo trade with someone.

I think I owe you a drag race :)

Once your motor is broken in we will have to do another volvo dyno day.

Against the M? I didn't do so well the last time.

Congrats on that motor and setup...

Really quick turn around on that project...

Awesome work guys...

I don't think it was a fast turn around, but then I never really talked about it on here much. :)

I have about 235 miles on it now. Trying to stay off the freeways for the most part and varying the RPMs. Just about halfway there now.

Got the exhaust welded up, but they couldn't do the EGT bung, so now I will have to pull the DP to have it done.

It is interesting driving along at 20 in. of vacuum. The automatic never did that, so I don't know if it is because of the new engine or the manual. I am curious to see if my fuel economy goes up.
