:( Fog Lights Stopped Working.

So on the way home from snagging some food me and the wife pulled up to check the mail.

I get out turn around and realise. My fogs are off. Say ok maybe I bumped the switch. I look. Switch is on. Green light proves it.

While it is super rare for both fog bulbs to blow at the same time I am still going to check them in a few after I finish dinner. ( I have like 4 sets brand new )

Fuse in fuse box is fine.

What else is there to check?

These are stock fogs, stock harness. Nothing spliced in.

They worked fine before I left because I saw them on the back of the car in front of me.

Yes they are plugged in still.

Thanks for any help

<_< Any clue what causes this...

The other one looks identical...

The driver side fog bulb blew out. and the pass side welded itself, like the driver side does every now and then.

I now have white fog light bulbs :(

so glad I bought spares

Yellows were 55w.

It's one with the alternator, probe your battery. If you see anything more than 14.4 it may be allowing excess power to be output.

Also, 55W bulbs in a setup designed for 35W probably isn't the brightest idea......but I'm sure you knew that. :P

Honestly Aaron...

Ive been trying to figure out what the rating was the whole time.

no one seemed to have a clear answer everyone was on the fence about 55/35 (chat room peoples)

ill pick up some 35w....

anyone know where I can get some NON HID 35w yellows?

if not ill be doing the HID conversion sunday.

Haha, it's cool. I'm sure 55W are used more than just with you.

Not saying that's the reason but it sure would generate additional heat at the connector where yours melted a bit.

Ebay has cheap yellow bulbs and Nokya's, that's probably your best bet.

Yeah I think im going to pick up some 55w yellows because I cant seem to locate any 35w yellows

The yellows I had in there originally were 100w, they then died and I THOUGHT I bought 55w... but now that they seller is no longer selling them im assuming they were not...

so buying a totally different type of bulb.

What do you have against HIDs? Seems a lot more ideal then continuing to blow bulbs and replacing them.

Why do you have a problem with good quality, lifetime guarenteed bulbs that are bright and cheap?

 cool story bro.

Ill do hid's later when I actually have time...

got told next time I am seen under my car regardless of replacing a bulb in my fog lights it would be a $100 fine...

so now I can only work on my car, or even touch it when I am not in my neighborhood...

so instead you will just keep replacing melted bulb holders because you are running too many watts through the wiring?

Yes for a whole week

as I said above I will be doing the HID conversion probably sunday...

Edit: Never mind will be next weekend at the earliest... forgot its Fathers day.

 how did I get a -2 for saying I was going to do the HID conversion when I get time, and that my condo place fines me if im working on the car there?

Aequitas, These are the reasons I wont be doing it till I get time...

1. I can only work on the car 1 day a week due to work schedule and the fact I have to do it at parents house.

2. do not know how

3. do not have what ever parts are needed

4. it does not effect the cars performance (not a honda, HIDS do not give it an additional 200hp)

5. I have bigger problems on the car then fog lights... so its not really on my priority list.

When did this post turn into a cosmetic vs tool thread and not a help topic...

Thanks for the suggestions, I will check the alt connections sunday when I get some free time.

most of the work required for doing an HID install is hollowing out the bulb holder, and gluing the HID bulb in place. should take about 20 mins or so.

after that, you install the bulb in the foglight assembly and splice the wires in. takes about 5 minutes a side when finally putting everything on the car to be operational.

it's really not that hard
