lookforjoe
Went from to lol. Btw I admire your plastic welding skeelz. I extended my 960 lip the other day, and I suck at it hardcore. Any tips? Heat gun, putty knife & spare bits of bumper/lip material to blend pieces together. Heat the main pieces with the gun until they get shiny & work spare pieces (cut into thin strips that will melt quickly) into the surface, working from one piece to the other to blend/weld the main pieces together... JVC
For the headlight wiper holes, did you cut out the bowl part first then mold in something over it, or just mold a piece across the top and then blend it in.

I cut the back edge where it dips down, used the heat gun to level it off as much as possible, then used strips of plastic to fill & raise above level. I still need to sand them down, and then perform minor filling.
lookforjoe
Added an additional vent grille between the bumper & lower valance - sectioned that lower panel, plastic-welded the grille to the lower valance still working on the wiper divots & filling/leveling the sectioned center area. lookforjoe
Turned the lower opening into an actual grille - heat welded to lower valance preliminary plastic weld of wiper divot sanded - just needs spot putty - I'll have to leave that for the bodyshop
Oreo931
At the rate you're going, the entire front end of your car is just going to be one big giant grille jk. Great progress.
ryan850-t5
Ever thought about adding some kind of lip? With all the bumper mods, a lip could set it off really nicely

ryan850-t5
I forgot he had the 740. I was thinking more of a lip that stuck out like an 850/x70 R lip to make it more aggresive
andyb5
I think the huge bumper opening for the FMIC has the "aggressive" part covered
BurgerBob
The very bottom grille doesn't seem to fit as well as the others. Maybe it's just the pictures, but it seems to poke out and sit unevenly. Not to short change your work in any way, of course. Just hate to see a tiny detail detract from such an excellent set of mods!
lookforjoe
Thanks, guys. The very bottom grille doesn't seem to fit as well as the others. Maybe it's just the pictures, but it seems to poke out and sit unevenly. Not to short change your work in any way, of course. Just hate to see a tiny detail detract from such an excellent set of mods! Good observation, that's the only thing that's bugging me about it. It does follow the bumper contour laterally, but.... at the ends (of the lower grille) the bumper (vertically) tucks in & back... I may have to mold that section to bring it closer in alignment. Having the bumper uniformly painted will also change how it looks, that grille will be black like the valance.
Piston Slapper
Before too long it will look something like this:
lookforjoe
^ That is cool, but not my style. I dropped the cover off at the bodyshop today, I'm done dicking around with it, time for prep & paint. I'll get it back sometime next week.
