p.s. who are you to tell me what i can or cannot do. get over yourself reid or whatever your name is.

Yea I took it as a dick comment. Go hawk your shitty parts on TB...assuming it's up.

It's too bad VS went from a car forum to a cash vacuum.

Pretty soon you'll have to buy a membership not to get redirected to midget porn.

That make sense if

1. Ebay import was free

2. Auctions was not free

The only way to require supporting membership, ie thats paid, is the classifieds. And given that there were 7 items added to auctions today and zero to classifieds I am not sure I see your point.

Like the site isn't self supporting off ad revenue. I understand having a supporting member to disable ads for people who don't want to look at em, but to require it for core features like classifieds is silly. There's been zero classifieds posted because of this, that is not a reason it's a good idea, that's a reason it's not. The for sale section here has be less active since the traditional method got axed in favor of pay to play.

I will go over this one more time for the slower members.

1. The for sale forum is actually a hair over 8% more traffic than it had the same month in 2010. So less traffic statement is not valid. There are less replies, but listings are up, as are visitors. Chit chat is not the goal in for sale so I am calling that win.

2. The classifieds are sort of a beta right now to see how they do. As posted earlier, they are not being used so I am taking them down probably.

3. The only reason for the current format is because members were not following the guidelines of for sale. IE title format, price in the title, listing item location. The current format assures that they do those things so the moderators are not wasting time running behind members wiping their asses.

You do not even have to be a "supporting member" to disable ads. There is an ad-free option thats something stupid like 1-2 dollars per year. Supporting membership pays for things like the giveaways, bbq grills for carlisle, getting your guys discounts and so on. The ads, pay the 600 dollar a month server bill.

1. I said nothing about traffic, way to go on reading comprehension.

2. They're not very visible and only accessible by the supporters, of course they're not getting used much.

3. So... the moderators were QQing that they had to do their jobs? That's why we lost the good for sale section? Oh, ok, I'll blame them. And a good chunk of the listings on the new site don't show a more specific location than 'United States' and list silly prices like a million dollars which might as well be no price. And there appears to be no moderation. So... No improvement?

Sorry I got your pricing system for the elite memberships that enable all the features a forum normally has mixed up, my bad. And Mattphi, suck my balls.

1. Sorry, but by activity I meant 'number of items for sale' not 'number of people bitching in the feed forum'. There's a difference between the raw traffic number and the actual useful activity. Should have been more clear.

2. Was referring to the traditional classifieds, not the auction site. And see #1.

3. Sure, I'd be happy to moderate a traditional classifieds section.

And I like basic, less things to go wrong.
