Everyone also breathes, doesn't eat Kitty litter and craps on toilets. Doesn't mean we should stop just to be different.

Agreed, that below picture was my desktop wallpaper for awhile. I just have never understood the whole, slap some stickers and a light bar on a car and call it a rally car.

But it's your car do what you like, just don't half a$$ the rally theme if that's what your doing

It won't have stickers... that is not my style. But I want it to be something that I can have some fun with on forest roads.

So proper suspension work, good lighting, and tastefully modified. I would like it to be somewhat period correct as well.

The car does not have any rally heritage so the stickers are pointless in my mind. If it was a Lancia Stratos it would be a different story.

Yeah, if you could afford to restore a stratos I don't think you'd be on VS, hahaha

And I forgot that you live in the middle of BFE, so lowering a car probably isn't the best idea haha

  • 1 month later...

My image hosting site has decided to run away with all of my pictures so I apologize that there has not been an update for a while.

So let me start over.... hopefully it will work now...

Before pictures:

And as it currently sits, all the trim has been removed so I can begin removing the rust:

I am at the point that I need some chemicals to begin the body work.

I was thinking POR-15 Marine-Clean and Prep & Ready. Then some primer.

I won't likely be able to have it painted for a year or so. I just want to get rid of the rust and protect the metal from it coming back until then. My plan is to sand off the paint and rust. Cut away any of the rusted metal. Then clean it, treat it, and primer it.

Anyone with more experience care to chime in and give advice or recommendations?
