This is what I would do - in fact it is what I did.

I got one of FCP's 302 kits so it came with lines. I'll probably hold off on the lines till I get around to it and might do the front set up one weekend and the rear set up the weekend after in case I get bogged down for some reason or a bolt takes some coercing. Guess I should start reading up on some brake install threads.

Well, if you're doing the 302 kit then you have to detach the caliper in order to replace the bracket for the fronts. So it's probably worth doing the lines at that time.

Do I absolutely need to do the lines in order to swap in the new brackets? Or is it just a 'while your messing around' item that can be done?

Since you have to bleed the system anyway, and your gonna have the calipers off, and you have the lines already, you might as well, but if you really think you'll be pinched for time, I don't think it old be that big of a deal if you skipped it

Eeesh, to far!! What happened to the one in LA? Are they still doing that one? Spence how far is Santa Barbara from you anyways?

It's bout a hour north from me.

The huge one is in irvine which for you would be like 15-20 north of where we just had the meet. Not bad, but it's hella early!

Damn,, I would, but I'm out of work right now so I'm rationing my gas :glare:

I can relate to that lolol :(

I realize I have to remove the calipers but do I need to disconnect them or can I simply support them while I have them off the rotor? Or does it make life easier to disconnect them?

Also, does anyone in the SD area know of a good place to get my windshield repaired/replaced? Took a rock to it and the crack is slowly but surely working its way up, maybe 3 inches in length now. :(

Also, is it a bad thing that I've just noticed that the wagon apparently has Bilstein HD's in the rear?

I can check that RC Imports place to see if they have a windshield. Don't know if they can put it in or not but you might be able to get it cheaper. I'll call you and let you know Monday or Tuesday if you want.

Thanks Justin...and if you see any other goodies that they might have down there that would go good on the wagon let me know.

I could be wrong but I don't think you can get that bracket on there without removing the caliper. I'm sure one of your brothers from the MW will know

Sucks that you guys couldn't come today, I'll get pics up later, highlights of the day, swarms of badda$$ ferraris, 3 merc SLS's, getting to tour a private collection of amazing Bentley's/Renault's/other French cars, a 35$ MILLION DOLLAR bently, tons of concourse/pebble beach best in show winners

You can simply support them and work on them, but it's 100x easier to just take the completely off.

If you wanted to, I'd take the opportunity to clean/degrease the calipers and if you want, paint em up real nice. Most times when people paint the calipers, they do a half azz job because they are too hard to mask when they are on the car.

Wish I could have come up there spence, the need for money sucks :(
