gmsgltr
Did a few pulls with a friend the other day and was surprised, then I did some research and found out how slow the stock mustangs are until the 5.0 came back! The new ones are absolutely awesome btw. Obviously modding his car would be quite cheap and easy and yield nice results but he was 100% stock as far as I know. Anyway pull from 50 I put 5+ cars on him and pull from 30 he got the jump and then I pulled 5+ cars... Me: 96 855r auto 16t Him: 02 mustang gt auto stock any other similar mustang stories? how would a race be from a dig with these two cars?
Timbo Slice
Me: 96 855r auto 16t For some reason I thought I remembered you mentioning you just threw in an 18T recently..maybe I'm mistaken?

TRACStar
If he is stock it should be close from a dig, but I would put my money on your wagon. He'll get the jump on you but as long as you don't spin for half the track you'll catch him.

trs80
'99 through 04 GT only had 260 fwhp and weighed in around 2600lbs. Stock 1/4 mile is low 14's for a 5spd and high 14's for the auto. The best bang for your buck in those cars his diff gears. A 4.10/4.30 ring and pinion will shave a half second or more with ease. Add every bolt on including long tube headers and you have a well mannered 13 second car.
TRACStar
'99 through 04 GT only had 260 fwhp and weighed in around 2600lbs. 260 crank and no way in hell they're anywhere under 3000-3200.
Timbo Slice
260 fwhp Except it's a rwd car..
andyb5
I think he meant that fwhp=flywheel (crank) hp.

trs80
Yes, 3200lbs curb weight. That was a my bad/typo. I will go sit in the corner and beat myself now. Not sure what I was thinking, Lotus maybe? fwhp = fly wheel horse power. No one in the industry calls it crank HP.
Yellow95
Throw a KB supercharger on their and the fun begins. My 95 GT would light the tires at 55 mph if I punched it. I miss that car. My bro in law has ruined it. :(
