Gas prices are high! Do you think it is okay to drill for oil in Alaska?

i dont think drilling should be allowed there, the us is jus trying to run away from paying for oil from other countries, maybe if they where not so great of making the impression of an jerk then other countrys would be more liniant<--spelled wrongi think...

You are correct some people do not know this but Alaska is the largest state in the USA. Much larger than Texas !!! God Bless. :)

LOL ok..... US is huge. We have millions and millions of people here. Who cares if some of out troops die. Oh oh.. Got another one. We has lots of cops, who cares if a few get shot. Ok you want not people related ones. Grand canyon is huge...... we should run those power lines they have been wanting across it.

Haha, I like the joke that goes, "How do you make Texas the 3rd largest state? Cut Alaska in half." Anyway...

Sure, reduce the US consumption... suggestions (that SUV-buying Americans will buy into) as to how? I think we're trying, on one hand with miserly hybrids and the like. On the other hand, automakers can't make enough SUVs and Hemi-powered vehicles to satisfy the buying public. I think more drum-beating for that dance is what is needed and not crying over something to boost the economy, and reduce dependence on OPEC. If people are going to still buy big, heavy, fuel-swilling cars, no matter what is offered in the showrooms right now, would you rather pay another country for oil, or your own?

Maybe, just maybe fuel should be $3-$4 per gallon? Just a thought.

Just tax petrol more. That will save a lot of waste and polution. I hate driving, but once in a while I will skip store on way home from wrok in favor of going back after I rest. Put petrol at 2 dollars a liter and I would not be pulling that. Plus with the extra money the gov makes we can drop more bombs on other countries. Its a win win
