Volvo 960 Heater Core Bypass Help

I've not had to do this on a 960 but all you should need to do is locate the heater control valve and disconnect the hose that runs between that and the firewall from the valve, then disconnect the other heater hose at the firewall (the one that was not connected to the heater control valve) and connect that instead to the heater control valve. To locate the valve just follow the hoses from the firewall, one of them runs to that valve.

Replacement of the heater core does require the complete removal of the dashboard, terribly expesive if you don't DIY. For more on that see: http://forums.turbobricks.com/showthread.php?t=60966

I actually bought a v90 last summer without noticing that someone had done this and didn't figure it out till I turned on the heater in November and no heat! Someone had disconnected both hoses at the firewall and connected them with a plastic "L". Silly me for not noticing. I used some creativity when replacing the darned heater core without taking the dash apart.
