I dont know man, I did the same retro with e55 and the stock housings and mine looks a whole lot cleaner then yours sorry. Dont mind the yellow turn signals, I have since bought new ones.

BTW I am using Chrysler Crossfire shrouds. Nice thing about these is you can pick up a cheap faded headlight off ebay for cheap and each housing comes with two shrouds so you only need one side if you don't mess up

I was going to drop the cash but this is why I held off. Wanted to see what they look like - this photo of Lucky's doesn't give a full face on presentation so couldn't quite get a sense of the end product.

I do think the dark surround improves the look - though would like to see a photo of this car straight on and in broad daylight.

Has anyone tried this kit with jewels? Might look a hell of a lot better than the older reflector housings. There is the $$$ issue tho.

I have jewels I was considering trying this with but the question was whether the supplied aluminum bezel fits in the jewel reflector assembly.

I'm also considering giving this a try in my jewels.....figure I'm so close to Rye we could meet up and give it a shot sometime soon.

We're well past that point Paul. Poor Reid....

Doesn't bother me. At this point I could care less what they look like, I can see at night!!!

I don't hate them, but he knows my stand on them lol. We're going to try a couple things when I head out there in a couple weeks. We'll definitely be able to improve the look!

We have a couple tricks up our sleeves. They honestly look better in person though.

I guess I know what I need to change in the 850 version. My idea when designing the shroud was to try to combine the rectangular shape of the Volvo headlight with the circular pattern of the projector lens. I left a gap around the edge of the shroud on purpose so that light could spill out and fill out the square bowl to mimic the stock look as much as possible. The Texalium inserts do help the lines flow a little bit better since the odd look seems to come from the clashing of straight and curved lines at the center of the headlight.

Here are some frontal pictures of Lucky's car with the darker reflector bowls:

And one of Reid's car with Texalium trim strip fitted:
