BtownVolvo
these lights definitely have potential! the fact the bulb looks mad dark and sticks out against the shiny silver I'm going to skip the details, but essentially: They're not tinted. That's how all projectors are naturally.
JVC
these lights definitely have potential! the fact the bulb looks mad dark and sticks out against the shiny silver This makes no sense... clearly you don't know what projectors look like... ARD - Lucky
The odd thing about this lighting setup is how different it makes the car look depending on angle of the pic, I love the way it looks in person but in the pics above I agree it doesn't look the same. Output is so much better I almost don't care how they look they work so well Of course when it comes to aesthetic stuff everyone's taste is a bit different.... NEU
I'm curious is everyone painting the high beam reflectors? Hows he light output from that.
Zappo
I'm curious is everyone painting the high beam reflectors? Hows he light output from that. Less. Less reflectivity, less light output. Most aren't using the brights anyway.

The projectors in the kit that Rye is selling are bi-xenon. meaning you no longer need the factory high beam reflector.

I just left the bulb in there so it doesn't look goofy [/wait's for the comments]. The light output from the new Bi-xenon high beams is pretty tremendous. Output all around is exponentially better than anything you can get from a jewel or ecode headlight from Volvo.

BurgerBob
Ohhh, that's nasty. It's got to be nice to be able to see, but that's the sort of thing that makes me wish I couldn't see. That might look worse than angel eyes. The last picture looks better because the distance makes it harder to see the headlights. I think the best angle right now would be a picture of the back of the car.
Kevin.
Performance > looks This product performs superbly and although it may not look 100% PERFECT, lets keep in mind that this is a new product and there will be changes made to designs. Reid obviously likes them and I like them too for their effectiveness. I'm sure Rye will tweak designs for future X70 and 850 retrofits
