Ali
I recently purchased a 2004 xc90 2.5t with 135k miles on it. I noticed after buying it that the cooling fan turned on from the moment i would start the car. I have also been getting code P0111 intermittently and once got code P0299. I have since replaced the coolant temperature sensor, but that did not seem to solve the issue. Fast forward to today and I felt the car was quieter and that is when i noticed that the cooling fan was not running and was off like it should. I should be happy but i am concerned that maybe the fan burned out so i turned on the ac to get the fan running again and the fan did turn on, so i ruled out a dead fan. My only concern is what really happenned? did the sensor or whatever causing it to run constantly self rectify or is there something else going on? The last thing i would want is for the fan to not turn on when it needs to. Code P0111 and P0299 leads me to belive the Boost pressure sensor i believe also knows as the Intake Air pressure sensor and map sensor is causing this. Anyone have experience replacing this part. Thanks for the help.I forgot to mention that the fan use to stay on all the time as well.
