Sweet Venetian Andy! Wish I could have made it to Carlisle this year, next year I'll be able to see you with all your stuff swapped over!

Thanks, and Carlisle next year sounds good to me. We have many beers to drink and some signs that need relocation

Congrats buddy! I'll be at Ithaca again, probably not driving the Volvo but such is life. Any plans to have this thing done and in town for that meet??

Thanks Timo. Unfortunately I can't make it to Ithaca, I'll be in Connecticut for my buddy's wedding. I'd like to think I'll get a lot of the work done by then, but it'll probably be later in the summer

Dude yes! So many sign relocations, as well as some flags for the shop and the front door of my apt

Got a really good photo of me with my 99 R at Carlisle yesterday. It was a fun weekend and felt good to be driving this car again - it's much more engaging to drive than the Venetian at the moment. Photo credit goes to Melvin ( @aldebaran) Thanks again Melvin!

Not a problem Andy, it was good to see you again this year!!

We'll have to do a NY get together then sometime this summer. I'm not against coming out your way to get a few NE guys!

That could work, maybe somewhere in the ADKs?

What about Syracuse/Utica/Herkimer area?

I would be in.

Obviously, a little late on the reply here but there is the annual Euro Meet each June in Ithaca that is organized by the Central NY chapter of VCOA - there is typically a huge Volvo turnout.  I didn't make it this year because my friend was getting married in CT the same weekend.  A meet in the Syracuse area would certainly be an option.  I'll have to see when people would be interested and see if we can get something together.

In other news, I've been working on taking this car apart, and it's been a slow process because I haven't really had a ton of time to dedicate to it.  As of now, all the aftermarket stereo and all the associated wiring, trailer hitch/wiring, AEM gauges/A-pillar pod, OMP strut bar, XC roof rails/rain strips, Rally Armor mud flaps, and all but the driver's door panel have been removed.  Basically, I've been removing as much as I can while leaving it driveable.  Most of this stuff is still piled in the car because I'm pretty much out of space to store parts in my apartment.  As a result, I'm currently working on making some more space before taking anything else off the car, which will resume this weekend.  I'll post some pics later....

Got the front subframe pulled out last night, along with the last of the interior and any miscellaneous parts I wanted to keep:

Filled it up with all the scrap we had at our shop to get it ready for it's final trip:

Truck was rolling a little heavy on the way there...

Fuck me. I saw your first picture and was like I'm going to buy your drivers fender. Then I scrolled down and got sad.  I'm excited to see what you do with the new one. I'm happy you didn't give up

You didn't want that fender  the inside was kind of mess.   I'm excited to see what I can do with the new one too!

Pics have been fixed in the original post (thanks Photobucket, you bunch of assholes) and I'll be updating the thread a little later this weekend.
