Bonus Lane Man
Thats a browser issue. Mobile devices are really bad about it. Reboot the device and it will fix itself. As for messages, no idea what no messages means Even singing out on the phone and then singing back in on the laptop was bringing up the mobile site. And since it wasn't only me (a bunch of members in MWC reported that) I think it's a site issue.

Laptops you need to dump all the .js files from Volvospeed. Stop arguing and logout and clear the temp data then log back in.

Bonus Lane Man
We were unable to switch from mobile do desktop version of the site. It wasn't phones fault, it wasn't computers fault. It was something with VS. You obviously changed something, because before the mobile version of the site (doesn't matter if it was on the phone or computer) had "Change theme" button on the bottom and clicking it DIDN'T do anything. And now the mobile version of the site, instead of "change theme" button has "Full Version" button which works. I didn't clear cache, didn't dump any .js files etc. on my laptop and now it works fine. the reputation thing still doesn't show who +/- 1 us. On a major update 90%+ of problems can be solved by logging out and dumping temp files. Your browser will do it on its own in time but that interval is beyond my control. So that actually would be a browser/device issue. It could at times be a server/browser compatibility issue, but it is not global if it does not effect EVERYONE. So I ask again. What do you mean no messages? As for reputation, I have not asked about this as I have it turned off while I archive the older topics and will take a look at it once that finishes.
Bonus Lane Man
sending PMs from phone WORKS. don't know about notifications though.
Che'_Moderator
There should be no issues with PMs or notifications. Well unless they post is over 120 days old. After 120 days the posts are now going to be archived so it will delete the notifications for it since the topic will never again be modified. As of earlier today though less than 5% of the topics had been archived though.
Jazzy_J
Got it to work... what i meant by no messages was that i couldnt reply to messages (as mentioned before), on mobile or desktop. got that fixed when i cleared the cache and cookies. Still not sure why my desktop came up in the mobile version though.

Still not sure why my desktop came up in the mobile version though. Issue is with the ajax buttons. If you have an old js file it calls to a write opperation that no longer exists. No matter how many times you click it it will never do anything. Well other than return an error on my end. Usually I try to make sure they are renamed so that does not happen. In some cases though because the file shares the same name the browser does not recache the new file. This is one of the reasons that I used to set skin preference with cookie and not a dB write. With all the requirements of the apps and some other sites that share the VS database however that was no longer an issue.

Chuck says he'll look into turning it back on after the archiving is finished. As for reputation, I have not asked about this as I have it turned off while I archive the older topics and will take a look at it once that finishes. When do you figure the archiving will be done Chuck? And who does all this work? Is it a contract team in Chennai or Romania?
flyfishing3
how far back are you going? either somebody is power -1 bombing me, or its the reset.

Is it a contract team in Chennai or Romania? I am playing with the rate to see how much stress it puts on the server. Currently it is set for 100 topics per hour. At this rate it would be ~20 weeks. I plan to bump up the rate and see how much I can get away with without slowing the server. how far back are you going? either somebody is power -1 bombing me, or its the reset. I did a complete recount when I had the database off line Just checked archiving: 3.29% archived (4871/148090)
