He doesn't care what the party thinks of him and that's why he got elected in the first place. Exactly what he should be doing. If they want to bring home the pork for their State then the governors, congressmen, Senators need to ingratiate themselves with the future President. That's why Obama has had such a hard time getting reelected this year. Because he really isn't a politician. But there's a vast difference between putting your foot on the accelerator vs. the brake when you're racing toward a cliff.
