Midwest Madness Friday Night Pre-Party

Same thing as last year, if you are attending Midwest Madness this year and want to shorten the drive up on Saturday, I'm opening up the cabin for a Friday night pre-party.

What: Drive up to the Milwaukee area on Friday mid-afternoon, from there we will drive to my cabin in Beaver Dam and spend the night there.

When: Friday, June 22nd. Around 2:00 at a location TBD.

Why: Cut out a few hours of your drive on Saturday morning.

We'll have a fire, grill out, drink some beers, and get the weekend started correctly. You can wash your car if you want, any last minute fixes, etc. Drive some go-karts. We'll head out around 8-9 Saturday morning to head up to Eau Claire. We can either eat breakfast at the cabin, or head into Madison to get something. As of now, there are no plans to meet anyone else on the drive up, so we don't need to stop in Madison unless we need to for whatever reason.

If you're down, let me know! I'll be heading up to the cabin regardless, so even if only a couple people want to, we will still do this.

Attendees:

1. Gabe

2. Tom

3. Tommy

4. Lee

5. Art

UPDATE:

Meeting here at 2:00 on Friday:

Best Western

1005 South Moorland Road

Brookfield, WI 53005

So, looking at the MM thread, looks like the latest we should get there at is noon. It's approx 4.5 hours away, so we should be on the road by like 7:00 I wold say so we get there a little before noon. Thoughts?

Or, just another idea. Would anyone be down for maybe driving a little further up towards Eau Claire? Maybe up to Wisconsin Dells? I just checked some hotels and there are some for cheap:

Fairbridge Inn Express at $69/night

Loyalty Inn at Wisconsin dells for $62/night

This is just a thought. I know it wouldn't be as much fun (possibly), and there wouldn't be any cabin shenanigans, but at the same time, we would be quite a bit closer for Saturday. Wisconsin Dells are only about 2.5 hours from Milwaukee and then another 2 hours Saturday morning.

See edited post.

It's up to you guys, I know you'll already have been driving quite a bit that day, so if you don't want to, it's understandable. And if we got a couple rooms and had a few people in each room, it makes it really cheap for everyone.

I still vote cabin. The Dells give me the heebie jeebies.

Haha. OK. Like I said, up to you guys. The only difference is leaving at 6:30-7 with a 4.5 hour drive or leaving at 9 with a 2.5 hour drive.

Cabin will however be a hundred times more fun.
