flyfishing3
So, just to be clear, it's VCOA's snobbish attitude which is preventing us from doing this, right? the women i spoke with was very nice and it was a very nice discussion, the thing is branding. they want attention for vcoa. nothing wrong with that at all we want attention for VS etc they have a younger gen taking over and things will probably change some day at the end of the day, who cares about saab? i want to relax, drink, talk to friends. NEU
I'm the unofficial Vs caterer. Sorry you got bent outta shape. I was just trying to give some suggestion to make next years showfield appealing to all the Volvo member, VS, SS, TB, VCOA. Like the Saab club does... I'd like to see next years showfield be like theirs vs. what we had this year... I could give an sh*t about beating the Saab guys in #s, this ain't my first time at this rodeo (it's my 16th) and in past years VCOA used to do a really nice set up with food and swag... RBoy8
Somebody needs to cut off the front end of a Volvo and make the engine bay into a huge grille, and then tow it in with another Volvo, for Ashley to use.

I have all my 854 front body pieces, was going to just toss em in the garage but this is a much better idea!! So who ever builds said grill, if you want a 850 nose its in Miami... Kevin.
Carlisle 2013 all depends on whether I deploy in July 2012 or in January 2013 :(
projectvolvo
So, just to be clear, it's VCOA's snobbish attitude which is preventing us from doing this, right? they want chapter meetings. and nothing is stopping us. There is no reason to expect any club to pony up the time and money to organize a fairly public event. But voca's assistance would be greatly appreciated. (the politics could be multiple things, I just think they are a calmer crowd) I'd be in for helping in organizing and planning. (my gf had a great time and it seems she'd like to have a Volvo by next year as well)
Volvo_go_go
hmmmmmm any year you would perfer ? this I can and will do ! Well, of course my preference would be a 72' P1800....HOWEVER, it would be fun to pay tribute to the Original GoGo by getting a 95' 850 :D

NEU
Get me a grill, a table, and a cooler... Deed is done. Like I said get some sponsor/vendors to give you some money for said gear and if there is some left over money get food and drinks... How much could 2 grills and a couple coolers cost? And they don't have to be new either. If you are going to cater for that many people you have to step it up a notch or 2 to make it work... Or make it easier on yourself and hire a caterer, let them worry about grilling and sit back and enjoy the show... ;)
R MOOSE
Mr Lim,you sir just scored BIG on rep points for that idea! I would love to help out in any way to make this happen. There is no way we can be as big as the SAAB guys but like Mike said all we need is food drinks and a good time under the tent.I think we can pull something very nice out of our asses before Carlisle 2013.
