dorvin
I just received mine in the mail, set to install it tonight after work. I'm excited to finally clear the fog off my windshield once and for all!

Joshdub
Make sure to wash it first. I didn't and it smelled really bad for awhile and left its own film on the windshield from whatever was burning off.
dorvin
Just installed my aftermarket core this past weekend. I didn't wash it, and while it does definitely have a scent of it's own, it already seems to be getting better. Finally, I have the famous Volvo heat! cn90
OK, I bought this ebay heater core for $39.95. - Will wash with hot water and soap (dishwasher) prior to install. Question for the "O-ring gurus". - The ebay heater core comes with 2 Black O-rings. - Should I use these 2 Black O-rings or get them at dealer (Volvo PN 3545586)? Thanks! cn90
Another question re heater hose, I understand that some of you love silicone. For years, I have been using generic heater hose from local parts store, I use "Thermoid" black rubber hose and they seem OK. For the silicone gurus: - Do you think it is much better? How long do they last? - Where can I buy it locally?

TIZIO AKA 1 HND MEC
use the supplied o-rings +1 I went with oem o rings to be safe. +1. Both of you guys know that the heater core himself corrode and leak ,on 99.9% of the cases! I install more than one with both options and still dry.
