You can list off every successful person with body work and there x times more that were hindered by it

You gotta keep up with the times old man :P You sound like the kinda guy who wears sweatpants everywhere.

Call me prejudice, but I'd never hire a qualified person covered by visible tattoos if the are in the public representing me or my CO.

Even if a shirt/tie/pants covers it?

Maybe it was the PERSON with the said offending modifications. I have never been denied entrance into anyone's home (for any reason so am assuming my tattoos weren't a reason)..

Aren't you in construction or something along those lines? If so, I feel like tattoos are part of the image, part of your resume. I perceive that you know how to operate heavy machinery and throw piles of bricks around a lot in 100F sun.

I've seen instal crews refused admittance to people's houses to install Carpet with tats, gauged up ears, piercings

Probably wouldnt work with black people either eh? Some people have an issue with them also. Or how about gay people? Midgets? Jews? Muslims? Cant have a guy with yarmulke around some people dont like that. How about ponytails? Alot of proffesional people im sure are not interested in having some hippy do work for them. im sure jerry garcia would have been glad you didnt get a dead tattoo. Your age isnt even an excuse for youre stereotyping of people with tattoos or peircings. Its just plain I'm dumb.

I think maybe you're taking his statements a little too literally. I mean, like I said, I think everyone judges on a case-by-case basis. I have dentist friends who have graduated from USC, NYU, etc (some of them oral surgeons now) with VISIBLE tattoos, and 99% of people do not hesitate to get treatment from them because of their qualifications and demeanor.

I believe that, rather than the tattoos themselves, the person's behavior has more to do with how they are perceived or received by someone else. Maybe even their overall appearance, along with the tattoos....such as their way of dressing, the language they use, their education.

It's a new day. People with tattoos don't necessarily have prior convictions and thuggish backgrounds. The only tattoo that I personally associate with an immediate judgement is a tramp stamp, or the so-called Octo-pussy type of ink. To me, that's immediate judgement. It's in an area meant to be seen only during certain activities lol.

wow dude, pump the brakes here.

getting a tattoo is a CHOICE you've made, IMO, that reflects on your ability to make choices.

I have tons of friends with tats, ( not so much drilled out ears but...) it doesn't mean we are not friends. My comment about hiring somebody is what upset you i guess.

if i had an employee with FXXK You on his knuckles, i sent him out to make a sales call. That would reflect back on me and my CHOICE's, Which than COULD translate to how i run my company. Running a business is very difficult right now, why make it harder?

My type of business is a face to face/ hand shake to hand shake, why do things to make it even harder?

most of my end user customers are covered in ink and many do not even speak english,

I'll chose to ignore your attempt to make me look like a bigot or close minded. I find it funny how you tried to walk back your comment to pras about where he currently resides.

What you said came off as very closed minded.Yeah i wasnt trying to offend him. I didnt take back that the area looked sketchy because in my opinion it does. Theres a big difference between having curse words and things that are meant to offend displayed publicly and normal tattoos in general. Yes monkey you on someones knuckles is offensive and i would understand how judgement of someone that did that would be negative.Getting something like a family crest or something meaningful or for that matter anything that isnt meant to offend is entirely different regardless of the placement. I dont need to try to make you look like a bigot because youre doing a good job of it yourself in my opinion. You are implying that anyone that gets a tattoo lacks the ability to make good choices. I do think that makes you closed minded .

i'm not going to debate your opinion/or mine back and forth here. if you feel a strong enough conviction, PM me. I'm curious what type of profession your in?

My comment was only about hiring people with visible tattoo's.

I'm glad you feel strongly enough to express your view, don't i have the same right?

No one's insisting any of the things you're saying and getting butthurt over. He asked what you do for a living, not if you pay your taxes and how many children you have. I don't think you having tattoos effects your ability to put your weener in a vagina and produce children, that was never the debate.

In my personal opinion, if there were two potential employees, one with tattoos and one without, I would most definitely hire the one without tattoos. Visible tattoos comes off as unprofessional in my mind.
