RJW
Does anyone have an accurate diagram of the fuel relay circuit? My 240 is energizing the (1) relay 86/1 to 87/1, but not the (2) relay. I can physical close the (2) relay and energize the fuel pumps - and the car runs. What I need to know is - where does the blue/green wire (post 86/2) come from and where does the thick orange wire (post 85) come from. Thanks. classicswede
I suspect we are talking about the green realy here on a K jetronic injected car. If so then it will be the relay at fault - they are a very common failure. If you are on the EFI injection then not so sure.
vivalavolvo
Blue Green goes to the ECU, Pin 17 The orange wire powers up the ignition apmlifier mounted to the inner fender behind the left head light, but pin 85, should be red, and that is switched power from the ignition swtich. It sounds like you have a bad realy, very common as they have a small timed circuit to cut fuel in the event of engine stall. But some 1990s have a pink lable ECU and they are known to go bad, in some cases it fails to send the signal to turn the fuel pumps on. Pick up a new relay and see if that helps, if not the ECU may be faulty.
