Simply Volvo
So, I did some more work on the paddle shifters today.. First I examined the hardware on the stock TCU board. At first i was going to use the existing hardware on there, but now I have decided to use my own hardware to control the solenoids(which is what I have been doing). I figured it would be best to do this because there are different versions of the stock TCU boards and some(older models) may have different hardware and this will just be more of a hassle to deal with. Second, Ive been playing around with pin B15. B15 is a very special pin on the TCU because if B15 is acting how its supposed to, the ECU trips code P1618. This is the same code that most manual swappers get. Aka if the tcu is removed, or shut off the ecu will throw this code. I've ran into a very strange problem though... I cannot get the ECU to trigger this code. Right now i have A30 cut from the ECU(Power form ignition so the tcu doesnt turn on so i can control the solenoids). The problem is, for some reason im not tripping the P1618 code. So i got curious and decided to cut the pin B15. After driving about 10 miles, still no code. Im completely stumped on this and cant seem to get the code to set. I think that it is not setting becuase i havnt cut pin A10, which is a constant 12V power supply. I think that if i cut this pin it will completely turn off the TCU and hopefully the code will be set. If the code sets, then i know i dont need any CEL tricking hardware on my PCB. To any manual swappers out there, how many miles did you drive before tripping the CEL? In the video, I shift through all the gears, then i do a 2nd to 1st pull, then some driving then another 2nd to 1st pull. Video as promised: Hopefully more videos to come of hardware, driving, etc. TODO:Figure out pin B15 and why im not getting a CELSchematicPCBAssemble, test, develop softwareARGGGG. I cant figure out how to embed youtube videos Here is the link:

Yeah i guess it was a little confusing at what i was doing at first until i started showing things other than the dash.2nd to 1st pulls are fun! Simply Volvo
I just need to finish up figuring out pin b15 and the whole cel stuff then i can start on the pcb. The snows been preventing me from doing this.
CBoosT5
Wow! Great to see this actually working, and you executed your plan. I will be following this thread. This makes me want to get an auto s70 daily. +
Simply Volvo
So ive been trying to figure out why i cant get code p1617 or p1618 to set. Basically these codes set when the TCU has been removed. I have tried removing the box from the car. I have tried driving with all power and pin b15 cut and still im not getting the code to set. Im starting to think for some odd reason Non-turbo M4.4 doesnt have this...? If anyone of you with turbo 850s either m4.3 or m4.4 could try removing your TCU box, then starting the car and letting it idle for a little, then repeating that process two or three times, and then reporting back here if you got a CEL code that would be greatly appreciated. Until i figure this out, i cannot go any further.
Simply Volvo
Okay so just a little bit of progress. I used VOL-FCR to finally show the code i have been looking for! Next is preventing that code, which is pretty easy. Uploaded with ImageShack.us

I have a VagCOM 409 cable and its really unstable, idk if its just a cheap POS or a bad one.
