gilber33
What's up guys. Just recently picked this up: It's solid. Had a fresh engine swapped, new suspension, new brakes, the rust for the most part has been taken care of and just needs some touch up paint. I got it for an awesome deal and just needs a few things here and there. The list is: -Auto trans leaks like a mothertrucker -Suspension clunk -Something screwy with the fuel pump -And it's piss slow (thinking engine temp sensor) Besides that, it's pretty solid. Fires right up drives great, going to be an excellent daily driver. I'll keep this thread going as my "build" thread, it's not getting much in the way of add-ons, just some cut springs and my winter wheels will go on it. My first bit of help that I need, I'm going to be replacing as many of the seals/gaskets that I can on the auto trans and was wondering if anyone could think of any other seals or gaskets that I could add to my list:

gilber33
It's turbo. Fuel pump is just noisy as shit and there's something goofy going on under there. Something with the hose routing. Won't know until we get under it. Something with the fuel pumps and fuel going to a pump or reservoir or something that it generally doesn't need to and this one doesn't need to go to this one thing so we need to bypass it. Essentially it needs to be turbobrick'd magrubered.

gilber33
Pictures when I bring it to my apartment to do the work on it in January. With school and then the holidays, that's the first chance I'll have to work on it. Which makes me sad, I realllllly want to drive it. I'm trying to think how I can get it here sooner, but that will be my first chance, unless I bring it home between Christmas and New Years to start some work on it. Only problem is if I bring it home, then the 850 goes into storage so I won't have a way to get around for a bit.
Über855R
That picture is a bit cryptic isn't it? Is this a "my first 245, teaser" thread? More pics! Also, congrats on the new ride.
gilber33
It's not really a teaser thread since I have it and it's sitting in my storage unit and I'm not hiding anything about it. There isn't much to see. Right now it looks like any old white 245 with a few rust spots. I'll post some "better" pictures when I get it home. Received my gaskets and stuff today Ordered a temperature sensor for it and received this Some VW/Audi knock sensor.

gilber33
Car is in my parking garage and I am currently working on it. Put on a new trans oil pan gasket, redoing the oil return for the turbo, resealing a couple a fitting in the trans cooler lines, addressing the fuel pump issue, and a few other things. Goal is to have the transmission leaks basically taken care of by Sunday so I can take it down to JJ Fab so they can fix the downpipe. Car: And the problem spots: They've all been treated with rust converter, so it's just a matter of painting all the spots. It's getting there. gilber33
Got this in the mail today. Now I can wrap up the transmission. Just need to go to the auto parts store to get some thread sealant, a couple fittings, and an oil return hose.
