Looks like the levels are similar to 50 years ago (up in some things) but well down from the highs that were reached 25 years ago. Anyway, gun control in itself isn't going to be a solution but it's part of it. It seems sensible to me that you don't want guns to be purchased freely by people who really can't be trusted with them for mental or practical reasons. Like a driving license is obtained only by demonstrating a minimum capability to handle a car. It's never going to be perfect, obviously. But more importantly, the average life standard as well as education standard need to be raised. As long as there are huge numbers of poor and/or uneducated you're going to have issues that cannot be resolved by making gun laws. Gideon35T Posted January 17, 2013 Report Share Posted January 17, 2013 "Assault Weapon" really is mostly cosmetic based. It's still a semi-auto tiny caliber rifle at the end of the day. I have an Archangel kit with several add-ons for Sarah to shoot. She feels comfortable with it. It's not more or less effective as a weapon because I put on an adjustable lightweight stock for my short 100 lb girlfriend, haha. But this is meaningless to a liberal because they don't care about actions or functionality (look at the politicians and spokepeople they favor) they only care about cosmetics (again, look at the politicians and spokespeople they favor). I went with the .40XDM compact and just snagged a 9XD subcompact. Shooting that one tomorrow. All I have anymore is a G22 and Sks in a Tapco stock.
