June 15-16 it was 46, 7 killed (this was the date the news started talking about "Chi-raq") Fathers Day it was 41, 7 killed Memorial Day it was 17, 6 killed Will be interesting to see what the toll for this Labor Day weekend will be. we should give everybody AC. it would drop the killings. Does crime drop during the Chicago winter too? In other words, is violence swayed by the desire to stay comfortable? You haven't spent much time down near the lake (south side of Chicago) during the Winter have you? It can be freeze your assets off cold. So yes, death by gunshot goes down because nobody wants to be outside which means you limit the likelihood of gang bangers encountering each other which leads to altercations which lead to DBG which leads to revenge killings which cause the death rate to spike.. If we came up with some $70M solution like better gun and gang education, and maayyybeee it'd be effective, or for $12M you can buy everyone an AC unit? Would you vote yes? Well, though one is cheaper, but both are being paid for by "us" That being said, I would go with whichever had a lasting effect. 70 million for education is a better deal then 12 million for AC units, as the AC units don't address an issue, nor do they help in the winder violence season.
