Starting a list would be great. I am waiting for another quote locally. Also would you guys be fine with this being just the lexan part itself (painted SEM Black) and sourcing the 3m tape or plastic weld epoxy yourself? It is possible to install this with the dash in the car, and using 3m tape should make it even easier. Everyone is fine with the "R" logo I'm assuming?

YES! :D

That makes the most sense I think. People are going to want to attach the piece using their own methods, so I'd leave out any adhesives/tape.

What do you think about having these made out of aluminum?

Also, approx. how thick is the piece?

1. MattyXXL - 3

2. Goldponcho - 2

3. gmsgltr - 2

4. Kevin - 2

5. Oreo931 - 2

The first one I made is about 1/8" thick. This works well because the edge is mostly hidden behind the dash pad. I wouldn't want a 5' long aluminum part attached to my dashboard with double-sided tape in a crash. If I had the know how I'd look into carbon first.

LOL. Good point about accidents -- didn't consider that.

If you use carbon fiber it's going to increase the cost substantially (unless you buy the materials and make the pieces yourself). Regardless, if you're not careful about the type/brand of resin used there's a chance it will yellow over time from all of the sun exposure.
