rmorse Posted February 26, 2013 Report Posted February 26, 2013 I honestly have zero idea what's going on or how I can use this. I do, however, understand enough to know that the smart volvo'ers can now tune their cars for free and on their own. And for that, I +1 you good sir. I'll still buy a tune from Lucky.
optimus prime Posted February 26, 2013 Report Posted February 26, 2013 Im smart enough to get the gist of some of it and use the software but not smart enough to discover anything helpful. Haha
flaco Posted February 26, 2013 Report Posted February 26, 2013 Awesome work. A DIY guide for dummies could include instructions and files for flashing 'R' tunes to HPT/LPT ecu's. Both 4.3 and 4.4.
boxpin Posted February 26, 2013 Report Posted February 26, 2013 Like nuclear launch codes, really cool to have but dangerous in the wrong hands.
andyb5 Posted February 26, 2013 Report Posted February 26, 2013 Nice work! If only this was around when Faulty was here
Johann Posted February 26, 2013 Report Posted February 26, 2013 The one I have here compared to above posted pic,
Tightmopedman9 Posted February 26, 2013 Author Report Posted February 26, 2013 Johann, is that a turbo ECU?
Johann Posted February 26, 2013 Report Posted February 26, 2013 Johann, is that a turbo ECU? I think, or pretty positive, it is NA but the cover on it is from another ECU with the wrong number. (Says 850 2.3 T5 ...)
Tightmopedman9 Posted February 26, 2013 Author Report Posted February 26, 2013 Hmmm... that is different. Can you get the datasheet on the chip in the far bottom right corner? It isn't on any S70/C70/V70/850 ECU's I've seen. On another note I got SAS disabled in software, so no more need for a diode. I'm working on taking care of EVAP right now...

Simply Volvo Posted February 27, 2013 Report Posted February 27, 2013 Does m4.4 have a fuel cut like m4.3 does? If so how does it work? Is it just a MAF limiter?
Tightmopedman9 Posted February 27, 2013 Author Report Posted February 27, 2013 I explained earlier that it has the overboost function; if you go over the target load you are in overboost mode. You can only be in overboost mode for a short period of time until some sort of the load is limited to scale it back down. I'm not sure what method it uses to limit the load at the extreme, but it may be a fuel cut. There is another factor that literally translated from German means "Drop out rate for achieving a fuel cut." I set this factor to its maximum and I set the load difference for overboost detection to its maximum and have not hit fuel cut.
Dick Dastardly Posted February 27, 2013 Report Posted February 27, 2013 Nice work! If only this was around when Faulty was here Pshh..Faulty wrote the code for 4.4 when he was chief engineer at Bosch
Tightmopedman9 Posted February 27, 2013 Author Report Posted February 27, 2013 Could anyone get a picture of a Turbo Tuner ECU? I'd like to see the EPROM emulator setup.
