Tightmopedman9 Posted March 5, 2013 Author Report Posted March 5, 2013 Everything related to the EVAP system no longer triggers a code.
Simply Volvo Posted March 5, 2013 Report Posted March 5, 2013 Everything related to the EVAP system no longer triggers a code. Cooleos, Guess ill just keep the stock 4.3 evap then! M4.4 uses the same pin for the Purge Valve, so everything should work as it did in m4.3. Somone correct me if im wrong.
Volvo5.0 Posted March 5, 2013 Report Posted March 5, 2013 Everything related to the EVAP system no longer triggers a code So with SAS and EVAP deleted have you been able to establish readiness?
Tightmopedman9 Posted March 5, 2013 Author Report Posted March 5, 2013 So with SAS and EVAP deleted have you been able to establish readiness? I'm not exactly sure how to determine if readiness has been set. I can decrease the amount of time to complete readiness, I think. How would I go about checking if readiness had been set?
Keaton85 Posted March 5, 2013 Report Posted March 5, 2013 Most scanners will tell you if readiness is set. All depends on what tool you are using to see if readiness is set or not. Once we determine that SAS, EVAP and rear O2 are completely removed then can the BIN file be uploaded and posted? As in if I need a T5M or R 5spd (euro?) can I just use the BIN file that has already been changed by anyone on here? just so we can start a complete list of stock files with the basic deletes then work on tuning?
Tightmopedman9 Posted March 5, 2013 Author Report Posted March 5, 2013 I'm trying to figure out the constant for consumption display, but can't make sense of the numbers. From the DAMOS it says the value is a 16bit LoHi (LSB first) multiplied by .00795 to give a value in ml/sec. However this conversion yields a constant of 51.293 (1B FC) for 350cc injectors and 1.65 (1B 08) for 310cc injectors. Any help on figuring out these numbers? I feel like the LSB first part may be incorrect. EDIT:Looks like I may have just figured it out. I'll need to test it on a full tank, but I think it should be good now. Readiness was not set on my car, but I re-flash my ECU almost twice a day. I set the amount of trips for readiness to 0 and will report back on how that works. If you want a tune for no emissions checks, just make it yourself in TunerPro. With the definition file I provided it will take no more than 5 minutes.
Tightmopedman9 Posted March 6, 2013 Author Report Posted March 6, 2013 I've been reading on readiness flags, and it seems it won't be that easy to get them to set artificially. I live in an area without emissions so I don't care about the flags. If someone wants to take it on and figure it out themselves they should, I will not spend anymore time on it. I created this thread to provide others with the information I used to tune my own car. My car is pretty much tuned to my liking, so I won't be doing much more work in modifying my ECU. If you are seeking additional improvements it will be up to you to create those improvements.
Keaton85 Posted March 6, 2013 Report Posted March 6, 2013 Sorry, but I have to ask, where are the stored BIN files on MS?

Keaton85 Posted March 6, 2013 Report Posted March 6, 2013 Well, idono what is up with my MS, but it will not open any BIN files without giving me an error.
Keaton85 Posted March 6, 2013 Report Posted March 6, 2013 Thanks, figured it out right after I posted it. Now I just need to cut up a spare harness and make a flashing bay.
Tightmopedman9 Posted March 6, 2013 Author Report Posted March 6, 2013 You don't need to cut a harness necessarily, you can just use female spade connectors and put them on the pins you want. You only need 5 connections...
Keaton85 Posted March 7, 2013 Report Posted March 7, 2013 I have a harness, might as well make a little plug-n-play bay with an OBD port and everything. anything come up with your readiness yet?
Tightmopedman9 Posted March 7, 2013 Author Report Posted March 7, 2013 Like I said, I re-flash my ECU twice, sometimes thrice, daily. So I have no idea about readiness, but my guess is no.
